Just got an early Christmas present. A DVD writer and program to convert video tapes to DVD. So I decided to pull out the old Soul Train tapes (compilations I bought a few years ago). The tapes appear to be recorded from a Japanese TV. The picture and sound were average with the picture being fuzzy and sound over modulated. Amazingly, running them through the program cleared up the picture and sound somewhat. I was surprised. So now I can put all of them on DVD with excellent sound and picture. Thank goodness.
