I just finished reading John's interview with Bernie while playing what we used to call DGR. EXCELLENT, on both counts.

John, thanks for some great memories. Your interview made me think of my own experiences getting, or trying to get, work in NYC. I'm sure we were tripping over each other at Judy (Weinstein's) on Friday's but I don't think we ever actually met. If we have and my memory's failing again , my apologies. If you were ever at the pool on one of the days Judy had artists come in (Cerrone, Gayle Adams, Skyy) then I know we've seen each other. I just remember busting in there before 6 PM so Kenny (Morgan) could pass me the music and I had time to fill out those damn feedback sheets. (You remember, Judy was a stickler for feedback.) However, my lover and I did hear you and Jim Burgess at the Good Friday party at 12 West/River Club. If you remember the screams from "The Hill" (Boy-oh boy-oh boy --- You G-d damn right!!), that was us --- Leo Moore and "Family".

Thank you also for the music you just gave Bernie. My only complaint: 27 minutes = TOO SHORT. Now, what is that Afican/Jazz piece (3rd song) you played that I can't remember? Sounds like Ralph MacDonald...

    Good Luck.

The third cut is Fungi Mama (Bebopafunkadiscolypso) by Tom Browne.

    Hi Nicky-

Nice to hear from you! I'll never forget those screams, they always make me smile. The song is "Fuji Mama" by Tom Browne. And as far as the legnth of the sets goes,'I did that so I could provide Bernie with several different nights form many of the different clubs I worked. He has over four hours total. Best wishes-John Ceglia

Good to hear from you, too, and thanks to both you and L/F for giving me the name of that Tom Browne jam.

What's the name of the song that follows "Fungi Mama"? It has a female vocal.

I believe it appears right before the Jacksons "Walk Right Now".

The lyrics go "Tonight I feel cold inside. Tonight I want you by my side. Tell me what to do to feel better, tell me what to do to feel warmer."

That song is "Tonight" by Maarten's favorite girl, Suzy Q. It's off the GET ON UP AND DO IT AGAIN lp on Atlantic, 1981. This would be my choice for best cut on the lp but we all know our 'Man in Japan' loves the title cut.

You were and still are the best, Mr. C. Not only are you good at spinning ... you have a winning personality too. It has been a pleasure knowing you all of these years. See you at the next reunion party, bro.

Bernie ... great interview. Please keep em coming.
