All the recent posts about the Australian Mirror Ball Classics CD made me pull it out for a listen, and a song by Revanche called "Music Man" caught my attention.
Anyone else familiar with this song? It almost seems like it was made just to mix with other disco hits: At various points in the song, I detected elements of "Born to be Alive," "Hold Your Horses," "Set Me Free" and "Rumour Has It." And the song has a relentless energy all its own.
The credits on the Mirror Ball CD don't provide much info, only "1979 WEA International Inc." and "Malavasi/Petrus" as writers, I guess. Could this be the same as "Jacques Fred Petrus" mentioned in another post?
I don't see Revanche listed in the Vault here, so I'm just wondering if anyone knows any more about this song.
Revanche was in the "Vault," but didn't make the site redesign. I hope to add it back very soon. Here's the info from the album and 12" that I have on hand.
From the 12":
You Get High In NYC (8:40) b/w Music Man (10:22) - Produced by Jacques Fred Petrus - A Malavasi and Petrus Mix - Atlantic Records 1979
From the LP:
Revanche: Music Man
A)
You Get High In NYC (8:40)
Revenge (8:53)
B)
Music Man (8:16)
1979 It's Dancing Time (8:45)
Produced by Jacques Fred Petrus - A Malavasi and Petrus Mix - Atlantic Records 1979
