    old school techno

i found an old dj promo tape from overseas. Its all dusty and all but I believe the year is around 1993. It's mostly techno.

The first song goes "no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no theres no limited...." Female voice.

The second one is in spanish. doesnt really sing. He really just shouts out and he says A, A, A, A, ya... then he shouts out en ya co amigo. something like that. A lot of syth. Male Voice.

The third one there is just one line "open your mind" (male voice) and female voice goes "oh."

The fourth one goes "come on dance with me move your body you'll likes the beat." Female Voice.

The other side contains the following words "hasta la vista baby." A lot of syths. Male Voice.

The next is the trance cateogory. Its in spanish. "el rimo majeno, marovoros." something like that. Sorry i dont speak spanish so i dont know how to really spell or digest what he is saying. The guy just shouts out and laughs. No singing. Male voice.

The last one is also spanish. Also trancey. Very similar to the one before. The main words are "bombas bombas, que pasa." Male voice.

    Thanks!

In my day we had something called SONGS!!!!!

Not just a scream, a "no" an "oh" and "Aiiiiiiye"!!!

It was much more conducive to figuring out the title of a record. Go figure. Duh.

    "No Limit" by 2 Unlimited.

Possibly "Open Your Mind" by 808 State, but I suspect it's something else. This sample (from Dune, IIRC) was used in a lot of tracks at the time.

    Mixtape,

The third one there is just one line "open your mind" (male voice) and female voice goes "oh."
This is most likely Usura - Open your mind.
Contains samples from Simple Minds - New gold dream, this was huge back then.... :)

The bombas track could very well be Ramirez - Bomba

    Feel the beat,
    Peter

I think you're right. I knew there was another track out there that had that sample, but I couldn't remember it.

BTW, I have (or perhaps had) the "Hasta La Vista" track on some techno compilation that I bought back in the day. I'll check later on tonight and see if I've still got it and get back to you.

Probably just as many as there are tracks that have the "Funky Drummer" drum loop, the ARRR-ARRR-ARRR sound from 808 State's "Cübik", or a vocal lick from "Love Sensation". :D

Sorry, disrupting another thread again but, is Usura the "original" version?

I'm not sure what happened to techno. I used to go to Club Axis here in Boston to listen to it. Anyway there is one song that I still love 9 yrs later and its "Close your eyes" by Acen. I tried playing it for my boyfriend but he said it gives him an anxiety attack LMAO :o
