    Most annoying thing said about disco? Want top 500 on cd!!

    How cool would it be if there could be a compilation of The Top 500 Disco Songs 2003? Because of my slightly obsessive nature I have taken this list to heart and I want all the songs on there I haven't got!! I live in Australia. Anyway that wasn't my topic but its pause 4 thought. Heres my topic : whats the most annoying thing that people say about disco? My personal fav is that it "all sounds the same!"

    When asked about what I was listening to at work (MECO), someone replied "Do you have any ABBA records?" (I do - 1 CD & 1LP).

    Recently, when my Dad was listening to my '54' soundtrack CDs (he is partial to a bit of Disco now and again) - he said "A lot of this sounds like the Village People". :-?

    Besides the usual "disco sucks", "disco is dead", and "it's gay music" lines, the most annoying thing I've heard people say about disco is that it doesn't require talent.

    Pretty much alot of the quotes have been said here..I think every single one was covered :lol: . I will say this though, alot of people that didnt know **** about real disco music (another words, people who only listened to pop radio and never went to clubs) that I've turned onto this stuff have loved it and couldnt belive that some of this stuff was out at the same time as Bee Gees or sometimes older than. Id have to say the "Abba" and "Stayin Alive" comments are the most annoying to me. Now Abba did have some real disco music but the people that make those comments know nothing of "Lay All Your Love On Me" and other real Abba disco. They are talkin bout pop Abba that aint even disco LOL.

    Most Annoying Thing Said About Disco? Want Top 500 On CD!!

    I hate when people say Disco was/is a boring type of music,that it all sounds the same...I think Disco is one of the most complete forms of music, is a fusionist type of music par excellence,we have in Disco influences of various musical styles like Soul,Funk,Latin,Jazz,Blues and even Rock.
    Hearing Tribal/Progressive House for more than hour and a half...now that´s boring...
