    You better THINK

Who does the 1981-82 version of Lynn Collins - Think
    interpreted by male artist ?

Also from the same era, can you help me identify this song from male artist ...

    Oooh little girl . . .

There's a tough remake of 'Think' by Carole Sylvan, which has a male backing vocal. It's from '82, on Sound Of New York. It used to be quite rare, but seems readily available (and very cheap) nowadays. This version throws down hard!

Only 'exclusively male' version I can think of is the Chuck Brown one. What musical style is it - can you compare it with anything else? Fast, medium, synthesised, funky?

I know a 1981 version by a band called Staff. Pretty sped-up, with almost rock-like drums. Very good. I would like to have it.

Yes, this is a very strange fact. This record was considered pretty rare some year ago but it is easily found today.
I know that Dave Lee was to include it in the 3rd Disco Spectrum comp, but it is not in.
Forrrce, maybe you know something more.... Any reissue?

Funnily enough, Giovanni, I didn't know that it was bound for Disco Spectrum III. As for a re-issue of any kind, I don't think this has had one. I've picked up a couple of spares lately for as little as £5 - I figure somebody will want a copy at some point - and I suppose I can't forget how hard it was to find, 12 - 17 years ago. Usually goes down well when played out (it's always in my box, not that I play much these days).

Have you ever noticed that there are two versions of it? The original is certainly 'rare' by any standards - though the remix (with lots more syths and sounds more "Prince"y) is the version you always see. Recently witnessed it on Gemm for $4. How the mighty fall!
