    Universal Energy

I recently acquired a single (7" unfortunately) by this artist(s) on Pathe/Marconi records which I'd never heard before called 'Disco Energy' which blew my mind & had to have when I heard it in the shop. Does anyone have any info on Universal Energy please? (Coincidentally this track was played on this week's Story Of Disco on BBC radio 2!)

    Universal Energy

I have this 12" single by Universal Energy. It includes the tracks "Universal Energy" and "Disco Energy" on the flip. It is on EMI (Canada). I prefer "Universal Energy". It is one of those spacey disco tunes, much like "Magic Fly". I believe this type of disco was more popular in Europe and Canada. I enjoy this song in the privacy of my home. I don't the courage to play it out.

It's a coincidence that you think its like Magic Fly drpenfield, 'cos I thought that it sounded like Space if they tried to do a Rinder & Lewis track! As for only playing it in private, I used to be like that but nowadays I dont care & play my Euro-disco for all to hear; I feel better now I'm out of that disco closet! :P You must try to be proud of your disco records!

I like it, the synth solo put me in sky but the church organ solo is depressing :D . Giovanni gave me a reply in this forum when I also discovered 'Disco Energy' a few months ago. The intro (the first five seconds) looks like...'From East to West' by Voyage.

Yes, this track is realy " on the trip " - for me it always brings out that
special energy/hedonistic feeling of the era. On my Disco partys I always play this track - not in prime time but in" warm - up" !

Universal Energy also did an LP called funnily enough "Universal Energy". I too love Disco Enegy and nearly fell out of bed when I heard it during the History of Disco show on BBC Radio 2 earlier this week!
