It's by Norma Jean (Wright). "I Like Love"
Hi everyone
I need help identifying a song (well, artist).
There is a new song out called "I Like Love" by Solitaire which SAMPLES "I Like Love" (written by Nile Rogers). Now from what I know, Nile Rogers has worked with SIster Sledge & Chic, but I haven't been able to find the original song. Just wondering if anyone knows the correct artist for the song "I Like Love". Thanks for your help.

It's by Norma Jean (Wright). "I Like Love"
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
thanks for that markydefad, now my mission is to find it :D
Norma Jean Wright released only one album, called NORMA JEAN, in 1978. It was produced by CHIC. The album's great and it was released by SEQUEL RECORDS recently (I have my copy). You also can find I LIKE LOVE on DISCO YEARS VOLUME 4: LOST IN MUSIC, a compilation released by RHINO RECORDS in the 90's (I think it is still in print).
Peace,
zeca azevedo, I like love too!
Hello
I have several copies of the norma jean album. It's really great music.
But you should also listen to "high society" by norma!!!
It is only on 12" on bearsville and is my favourite.
It was also sampled up and down by house artists
Rock on

DJFab and Jan --- WELCOME GUYS!
Nice to have you on board. One of our regulars was just asking about this song last month. A lot of us have pulled out our Norma Jean lp for an overdue listen. :D
Well, the norma jean album is a nice one to listen to again!
Maybe,if you can do so,you give the T.S Monk LP "House of music" on Mirage 1980 another chance.
This amazing record with nice uptempo groovers and middle tempo soulers is one of my favourites these days.
Starting with the maybe most famous Public Enemy sample(the very beginning of side a in the song "Bon Bon Vie") going to the marvelous "candidate for love".
To everyone who is not right now familiar with "candidate for love" is strongly recommend it.
Starting with 30 second of the sweetest ladyvoice supported by wonderfull orchestra it really causes this "Positive Force" smile on your face...
B-side : "Can't keep my hands to myself " that one also might know from Fat Larry and "Stay free of his Love " are other great tunes.
Or get your second Philly Cream album and listen to the title track "no time like now"...
These two albums spin round and round with me these days
Let it groove

As they say in America, "You're preaching to the choir". Meaning: No need to tell us -- we know it's great! T.S. Monk has been discussed here before and several of us remember listening, playing and dancing to "Bon Bon Vie", "Candidate for Love" and "Too Much Too Soon". :DOriginally Written by funkandsoulrecords
Ok,thanks that's good to hear.
I am afraid since i joined this page yesterday,i am not up to date regarding the topics :(
But it is nice to see that you are in the same kind of grooves.
I would love to help, or at least try to ,with the track identification, but right now my soundcard is broke.
i will support you 100 % when the bug is fixed
Thanks

Sequel included the 12" mix as a bonus track on the CD. Nice. :DOriginally Written by funkandsoulrecords
Don't worry about that. Old topics are new again as new members such as you join the party. :)Originally Written by funkandsoulrecords
Oh, there are lots of different grooves going on on this board. You'll find some are right with you and others on the other side of the tracks. Keeps it all fresh. But it is nice to see that you are in the same kind of grooves.
Great! The more the merrier. You can help us handle those without sound but just written lyrics. Most of the time these are too tough for me. :roll:I would love to help, or at least try to ,with the track identification, but right now my soundcard is broke.

I was born 1977,so i guess i listened to other tracks those days like "C is for cookie",of course the Larry Levan mix or "sesamestreet fever" ...
But i am proceeding to enhance my disco knowledge,it's fun!!!
Same kind of grooves, well i am myself into so many.
Depends on the mood i'm in.
I like especially the crossover between sweet Philly soul and stompin disco.
In the end i am very opened minded,so i will surely enjoy
Hustle on and do the busstop
