Best From Artist 68 - WAR

Just another great '70s band that's rarely mentioned.
I've been going back and forth deciding which I like more, All Day Music or Slippin' Into Darkness, hmm?
    Find them and destroy them!

Hello there fellow San Diegan :D

it just so happens that your above choices made my list.. hehe.

The best thing about War is their songs are timeless... Very well produced... and so many songs by them can appeal to so many types of listeners.

Slippin' Into Darkness (1 of my very first purchased 45's)
    LA Sunshine (7" version)
Galaxy (both 12" & LP versions)
Don't Let No One Get You Down
    City, Country, City
    All Day Music
    Gypsy Man
    Me And Baby Brother
    Outlaw
    The Cisco Kid

Most of the above (especially Galaxy and Me and Baby Brother in a disco), but I must add a few more:

Lowrider ( one of their biggest early hits)
The World Is A Ghetto (specially made, uptempo 12" version of about 11 minutes duration. This was played absolutely live from beginning to end and the groove just builds and builds to its slightly chaotic ending). One record that maybe demands to be played from beginning to end, but you know how I feel about long tracks.
Good Feeling? (can't remember) one that kept some dancers very happy, but lacked huge acceptance.

What can I say about War, for me they are in a class by themselves, the first Album I ever bought in my life "All Day Music"!

    "Spill the wine"
"Get Down" the live version is great!
    "Nappy Head"
