FYI, there's another volume of "Disco Vaults" in the works. Keefe has been corresponding with Queen D and giving him/her (not sure) ideas. They did give Keefe some titles that have been cleared, but I don't know if this is confidential or not. Paging Keefe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is an incredible compilation. The first disc with Slave's 'Feel my love' featuring Steve Arrington on vocals is a great record. Also, 'Winners' by Kleeer, which I mentioned in my Friday night happy hour list, and 'Haven't you heard' by Patrice Rushen are also fantastic songs. The big surprise is on Disc 2 where you listed 'Space Bass' by Slick. I love this record and am surprised to see it in this compilation. Trussel's 'Love Injection' is a classic. Sounds like a great purchase you made here; Enjoy!

    Easy,

Jim, I got mine on Ebay. I paid $19.00 for it. Not bad since it is a two cd set which averages out to approximately $10.00 per cd.

The set is excellent. I would like to add that Tasha Thomas', "Shoot Me With Your Love" has about two or three "pops" in it. Hmmmmmmmm...........

The pops can be heard on the original vinyl record also. I actually think they were meant to be there since they are not scratches. Maybe there was some fault on the original mastering. Does anyone else have another copy of the original so we can sort this out?...

By the way queen:d is a girl.

I agree. Someone dispusted that there were 3 pops in the Tasha Thomas tune, but I heard 'em myself last evening when I played this set. No other problems, though.

For the record they occur in rapid succesion just as Tasha is about to sing the first chorus.

My favorite "Find" on this set is "#1 DeeJay" by Goody Goody. I don't have this on vinyl or any other CD compilation and I really like it. The female vocalist's last name is Montana, BTW. Any relation to Vince Montana?

Sounds as though this is unique to the CD since I played two different 12"ers of Tasha's song. One is the original pressing on Orbit while the other is the Atlantic release, neither has any pops although the finger snapping might be confused with pops by some.

This track comes from a great disco LP by Vince Montana himself titled "Goody Goody" on Atlantic from 1979, with gorgeous instrumental breaks. Preferred tracks from the LP are "#1 dj" and "Super jock", both available on promo 12" too.

    Mark, it's his daughter.
