East Cost was a NY/Brooklyn project. Producer Charlie Waller and arranger Michael Forman also worked with Will Crittendon (boss at SMI records).
"The rock" was released on the tiny FAMILY label in 1978 and later re-released by the major RSO.
The basic groove has, OBVIOUSLY, been sampled a couple of years ago for a house track I can't remember now
