Madonna, how 'bout Shirley Bassey, perhaps Stephanie Mills, could be Chaka Khan, then again Barbra Steisand. OK, OK, I couldn't resist Marky. I had to follow up on your trivia response.
I was just listening in my car to a tape I made and as the song ended, I heard a phrase that I don't recall ever hearing before. Since we've become preoccupied with bits of trivia--let me toss this one out.
Female singer/ well-known song/ as record is fading, she sings "I wasn't born yesterday".
Now remember this phrase is not part of the song lyrics--just an ad lib the vocalist sings as the song is fading out.
Any ideas???

Find them and destroy them!

And it's not Anne Murray, Cheryl Ladd, Pia Zadora, Connie Francis, Odetta, Dinah Shore, Brenda Lee, Helen Reddy,Crystal Gayle, Debby Boone, Toni Tenille, Marie Osmond, Jimmy Osmond,or Judy Holliday. (These were some ideas from my office cohorts)

Paul,
You actually spelled "Barbra Streisand" correctly. Are you sure you're straight?
(That seems to be a definite gay vs. breeder distinguishing characteristic).
Oops!!! I typed too soon...looking back you spelled "Barbra" correctly , but fucked up the "Streisand".
Show of hands...Do I need a Life???

It's Donna Summer, right?
This may be waaay too obscure an ad lib--but it's a song most of us have heard a whole bunch of times. I just had never noticed this last bit before. Maybe it's not on the vinyl--cause I taped from the CD extended version.
No, Outsider--it's NOT Donna Summer.
The record was released in 1979 and would be classified as "morning music" or "sleaze" to our East Coast members.
The record is NOT in the Disco Top 500. ( I thought it was--but I couldn't see it when I looked). It should have been.

As of 5:48 pacific time, I'm still straight
Too bad I F**ked up "Streisand." I would have left the question out there. That way I could have fun with people
BTW, I love that breeder term.
Find them and destroy them!
Nope, not Tina. She never had that much commercial success.

Phyllis Hyman - You know how to love me

And the winner is (drumroll).......
THE LORD OF FLATBUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, great job!!!!
How didja ever figure that out??????
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
Thanks!
For one, I have that album and Phyllis Hyman is one of my all time favorite artists. I was one of those DJ's who played the record until the end of the song before I changed it to the next song. Ad-libs, breakdowns, catchy phrases and special effects are what I paid most attention to within a song.

Wow!!! I am most impressed. Phyllis was a big favorite of mine also. Don't know why I never paid attention to that closing ad lib, though.
Thanks for playing my silly game.

I knew I had it around here!, I heard it for the first time a few weeks back when I pulled this LP after all the Phyllis talk around here, cool
This game was and still is fun! That's what trivia is all about. Remember back in the days, for example AM or FM radio and a station played records until the end. A fade out would occur, then the station would address themself.
