Wondering if anyone has purchased the Robbie Leslie sets?
Also does Bobby Viteritti have anything available?
Regards,
Max

The email address does not work. Also have read that this guy may not be for real.
Not for real? Of course he is for real-I interviewed and spoke directly with him on several occassions.Originally Written by MixMasterMax
Wasn't aware that the e-mail address was not working. Here's the last e-mail address I have for him rnikirk@nyc.rr.com

I think what this guy is saying is that he's heard that Bobby doesn't deliver on the stuff he supposedly has for sale. I've heard the same. (Whether or not, Bobby has actually gotten his act together, I don't know). DJ Jimmy M is a good way to get to Bobby and there's a guy in SF (Ron) who has Bobby's old stuff from Trocadero for sale.
DJ Jimmy has connections with him also.

This is the same address I tried. here is the result,
Final-Recipient: RFC822; rnikirk@nyc.rr.com
Action: failed
How about Leslie. Has anyone heard or purchased his sets?
Thanks for clearing that up Marky. I do recall Bobby being in a state of flux due to a major move, which made it difficult for him to access his items. Hopefully this has cleared up.

Sorry to hear that the other address didn't work. I'll have to give him a call again.Originally Written by MixMasterMax
As for Robbie Leslie, I have some of his mix CDs that he gave me some time back and can tell you they are excellent. He is able to play anything, whether it's classic Disco to today's house. I admit I'm a little biased, but his material is highly recommended. See the link at the end of his interview...

Bernie, glad to hear your thoughts on RL. I just ordered two sets. I just wanted to get confirmation that this guys is as good as I have read.
I've heard Robbie Leslie's mix stuff and it's real good. He's a ""pretty music" afficianado--so he doesn't get too funky or sleazy. But he mixes beautifully and I always enjoyed his programming.
Bobby played pretty, funky & sleazy.
Check out the website at www.hyperactivemusic.com/5am for more info.

Thanks Marky. I hope prety, funky & sleazy=DISCO. I was looking for a mix recorded back in the day not a current mix using old disco songs. He has many and he sent me a play list from a 1984 white party. care to see it?
I have also ordered from Robbie Leslie. I enjoy his stuff.
The tapes I have generally feature a variety format. Starting at 105 and going up to 130 and covers disco, hi-nrg, house (hip-house) and morning music.
Thanks to all.
Is there any other resource that you know where I can find media which was recorded "live" at 70's disco clubs. Again, I am not looking for the great work being done by current DJ's using the tracks from back in the day.
So did you try the Viterettis? I've got a couple of his cds and they appeal to the pretty and perverse in all of us. Tough fast and funky tracks alternate with light airy fluff most entertainingly, plus there'a a lot of deep dark stuff and sinister synth sounds should you Feel the Need to Walk The Night. A couple of the sequences don't work which only somehow adds to the live mixing ambience of the cds - the Viterettis actually do seem to be recorded at the Trocadero Transfer, as opposed to the 2001 London studio or whatever they used to manufacture the Larry Levan fakes.
I have not done anything with Mr.Viterettis as I have no way of contacting him nor does it appear it will be a smooth pleasant process (i.e. I won't
get ripped off). As for Robbie, I have not received his sets yet but should get them soon. He has been very nice and has excellent customer skills in addition to his mixing ability. I also talked to Ray "Pinky" Valazquez and I am picking up something from him. As you can see, I am going through a mid-life crisis. I want to relive a couple of hours, through music recorded back in the day. Probably also due to the fact that I have been mixing my own stuff for over 25 years and I am getting bored. Max
There's a guy in SF (Ron H) who has a lot of the Viteritti stuff for sale. I'll try to get his e-mail or website address. He occasionally posts here. DJ Jimmy M is in contact with him also.
But, bottomline-- there's a lotta vintage stuff availabe from Viteritti's days at Trocadero Transfer in SF. And it's reeeeeal goood!!!! :D
As for whether Bobby has gotten his act together and started to market his own stuff, I don't know. There's been a promise that he is going to do so for several years it seems--BUT I have no proof that he's actually followed through. DJ Jimmy M was gonna help him. Keefe & I volunteered to help him annotate the tracks--but I've heard nothing else for several months.
