Not at all bad for a radio station in this day and age. I guess they're not owned by Clearview.![]()
Nick, thanks for your compliment in the other message. By the way, did you see my WYBC disco playlist which I posted on Sept. 8, 2003? That one is awesome too. We see three distinct strains in these playlists - WEBE leans towards the mainstream pop chart, WYBC towards the R&B chart, and KXGQ towards Eurodisco and the disco chart.
KXGQ just played "AIN'T THAT ENOUGH FOR YOU" by John Davis and the Monster Orchestra a few minutes ago!
D.C. Bailey is the general manager of KXGQ. He and his staff constructed their CD collection with great care and obviously love soul, funk, and disco. Sometimes Mr. Bailey serves as the DJ and names the songs on the air and you can hear his bubbling enthusiasm for the music in his voice. If only radio was like this everywhere these days. As Boris Midney would say, "Make That Feeling Come Again!"
Savvy,
Does this radio station also do Internet streaming ?
Love that playlist, if this kind of station could be listened to here it would make my day 8)
Keep on jumpin',
Peter
DJ-Pir: The answer to your question is yes, however I don't think I'm allowed to post URLs here so all I can say is that you can look up "KXGQ" or go to the obvious matching web address and you'll find its streaming simulcast. It's worth a listen any time of day and can bring surprises when the DJs are in the studio. KXGQ is a cable radio station, BTW.
