    Commercial Disco

See if you can guess this little bit of trivia:

What early 70's piece of disco music was later used in tv and radio commercials to promote a black hair care product line?

    Hi Nicky,

I remember seeing those commercials during the Soul Train show back in the day, but can't recall the music used. I'll take a wild stab and say TSOP as it first came to mind.

Bernie --- Nope, that's not it.

efunk --- :-? :-? :-? If we were in a corporate setting I'd have you up on diversity charges. :D

OK --- some clues about the music (only three :P ):

Song released around 1970 or '71
    Singer is male
Song gets new life in 1975 due to remix and issue on a dance compilation.

Sorry, efunk, not brother James, either.

Here's the closeout lyric to the commercial.

    Beautiful people use Afro-Sheen

Now here's the chorus from the song:

    --- -- --- ----, beautiful people
    --- -- --- ----, young and in love
    .

If no one gets it, I'll come clean :) .

That's it! See, your brain cells are still active working fine :D . Personally, I never would have gotten it from the clues I gave. For one thing, I can always remember the song but never the artist  .

WAN TU WAH ZUREE, YOUNG AND IN LOVE = BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE, USE AFRO-SHEEN

Wish I still had the hair on my head I had back then.
