    Lyrical Connection

    Okay here's 5 tracks to identify, hopefully they're fairly easy. :D :D

Secondly & most importantly what's the connection between all the tracks? :-?

    1
You took me from the shelter of a mother I had never known
    Who loved any other
    We kissed after taking vows
But that night on our honeymoon
    We stayed in separate rooms

    2
    I've got this burning, burning
    Yearning feelin' inside me
    Ooh, deep inside me
    And it hurts so bad

    You came into my heart
    So tenderly
    With a burning love
    That stings like a bee

    Now that I surrender
    So helplessly
    You now wanna leave
    Ooh, you wanna leave me

    3
They ate up all my food
And I don't stand to search
Don't tell me it was a woman
Cause a woman don't eat that much
    My brand new silk pajama's
They're rolled up in the chair
My mind ain't playing tricks on me
Now tell me is he still here

    4
Now if you feel that you can't go on
Because all of your hope is gone
And your life is filled with much confusion
Until happiness is just an illusion
And your world around is crumbling down, darlin

    5
Life's too short to make a mistake
Let's think of each other and hesitate
Young and impatient we may be
There's no need to act foolishly
If we part our hearts won't forget it
Years from now we'll surely regret it

    3. "Somebody's Been Sleeping In My Bed" - 100 Proof Aged in Soul

    5. I almost got it but as Quinny says I'm having a 'senior' moment. :(
GOT IT! "I'll Turn to Stone" - Four Tops

Forgot about the tie in: I think they're all written by Holland-Dozier-Holland.

NICKY no 5 isnt the tops its give me just a little more time-chairmen of the board, and the connection isnt that HDH wrote them cos they only wrote two of them, but they did write for motown and owned the other two labels of the other songs[invictus/ hot wax] so there is a connection

You guys take some beating :P

    Steely Dan spot on with 1, 2 & 4

Nick Nack correct with number 3, but a bit off with number 5
& on the right track with HDH

& finaly DISCODISK corrrect with number 5
& absolutely SPOT ON with the connection as:
Tracks 2 & 4 were written by HDH
Tracks 1 & 5 Were on Invictus & 3 was on Hot Wax & as he rightly said Owned by HDH

    Well Done all :D :D :D

Yup, you're right about my Four Tops choice. And in the back of my head I kept saying Chairman of The Board but I couldn't get enough of the lyrics in my head. Should have pulled the damn album.

As to your question, I have a UK remix of "Reach Out" by The Tops and I'm guessing the second is "Band of Gold".
