My current fave pop/rock group--No Doubt :D has covered the classic "It's My Life" originally done by Talk Talk in 1984. I just heard it on the radio---AND it sounded GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!
Talk Talk's 12", remixed by Steve Thompson & Michael Barbiero, would be my pick for my fave 1980's dance rock 12". :D
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
This is usually referred to as the "US 12-inch Mix", and it's surprisingly hard to find on CD (I have it on a Canadian 80s compilation somewhere). Capitol/EMI seems to always put the UK 12" mix on the various comps, which is quite anemic in comparison.Originally Written by markydefad
Wake me up when someone covers "Spirit Of Eden". :P
I never have pop radio on. Does No Doubt keep it 'nice and sleazy'? I really got into the original.
It's a pretty bland cover. Maybe Gwen should do "Dumb Girl".
   Heh heeeeee!
Mark, when you're in the City in a few weeks, we'll have to drag you into Badlands. Everytime I'm in there (and that isn't frequently), they'll play the video for No Doubt "In My Life." It's a bit wild with Gwen portraying a serial kiler. Love the part where she dumps a blow dryer into a bathtub of water and the boytoy she's grown tired of. The video is probably in heavy rotation on MTV (do they show videos anymore???).
Hey, every time they play No Doubt's "It's My Life" I turn the radio up. At least it's a SONG!!! Same thing for Maroon5's "This Love". Probably the only 2 "songs" that have graced the Billboard Pop Top 10 all year. The rest be hip hap crap.
Let's see more 50 Cent or No Doubt???? Which do i wanta hear??? DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUh.![]()
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
In the last year?! C'mon, "Hey Ya!" was good fun.
Quite the contrast to the video Talk Talk did for the song...Originally Written by keefelc

You know I loved that song also. OK , 3 good songs.
But actually I was thinking "Hey Ya" was more of a "last year" song.![]()
