    Early disco 10"s

reading the 'rarest disco record thread' made me wonder about early 10" singles. Were some of these pre-12"?
    I have 3:

Bloodstone - Do You Wanna Do A Thing? (London) 1976
Richard Hewson Orch - Love For Hire (Splash/Private Stock) 1976
The Pearls - I'll See You In My Dreams (Private Stock) 1976

Would be interested to know what else is out there on 10"

    WELCOME, miles mayhem,

Here's my small collection of 10" singles. None pre-date the 12":

Al Green - "Full of Fire", Hi Records, 1975
Meco - "Music from The Empire Strikes Back", RSO, 1980
Carol Williams - "Can't Get Away (From Your Love)", Vanguard, 1983
Only (or Limited Edition Only. This is an import with a very weird label.) - "In Front - Wan' It?" b/w "N.Y.C - The Dub", High Resolution Records, 1998 (Now that I'm looking at it, the groups could be named In Front and NYC. Who knows :-? .)
Gary Glitter - "Glitter and Gold", Epic/GTO 1980; Bell 1973 (This is a 6-track EP reissuing some of GG's "classics".)
Bjork - "Hyperballad", One Little Indian, 1995

I also have a bunch of 10" acetates from Angel Sound and Sunshine Sound, both studios from New York City. None of these were commercially released.

    Hi Miles,

The Al Green and Bloodstone discs were the first special disco pressings put out by London/Hi records before that label started using the 12" format... Private Stock and M.A.I are the only other labels I am aware of which also experimented with the 10" format in the early days of disco (outside of the acetates that NickNack mentioned).

Frankie Valli - Swearin' To God (Private Stock 10" 1975 - thanks again Giovanni for the info!)
Bareback Rockers - Giddyap Girl (Private Stock 10" 1975)
The Mob - All The Dudes Are Dancing (Private Stock 10" 1975)
The Pearls - I'll See You In My Dreams (Private Stock 10" 1976)
    Toga - More (Private Stock 10" 1976)
Frankie Valli - Boomerang (Private Stock 10" 1976)
Richard Hewson Orchestra - Love For Hire (Private Stock/Splash 10" 1976)

    Boney M - Baby Do You Wanna Bump (M.A.I. 10", 1976)

Later, Columbia Records put out a few 10" promo pressings in the late 70's and early 80's, in addition to a small number of commercially issued 10" 'mini lps'. These were primarily used to promote new wave acts. Here is a list of the promos I am aware of:

The Clash - Train In Vain (Epic 10" 1979)
    Lene Lovich - 1980 Global Assault (Stiff 10" 1979)
The Clash - Clampdown / Brand New Cadillac / Spanish Bombs (Epic 10" 1980)
Cheap Trick - Everything Works If You Let It (Epic 10" 1980)

I have a 10" of "The Hustle" which I got in Canada on a Canadian label. I also have, "Turn The Beat Around."

I think that most of the disco songs that were played on Top 40 stations had 10" versions. I have many other 10" versions that I don't want think of now.
