    Best Disco TV Theme Song??

What is your best TV Theme song that was disco. For me it would be the theme from the 70's television show CHiPs. I love the theme by Corniche.

What a coincidence that Sarah was on Kirshner's label!

    GREAT TOPIC!!!
Best TV disco theme ever - that has gotta be Theme from The Hulk by Joe Harnell. it came in both original and disco versions and is in fact so great that DJ Jimmy M & I are currently collaborating on doing a remix.....we're gonna take different versions of the theme song in order to make an entire "Hulk Disco Suite" Costandinos style   with a little house flavour added :D

For me, by far the most requested TV show theme was “Makin’ it” by David Newton , personally I never watched the show and this song was to ‘Pop’ sounding for my taste but it did have a large following at the time.

On a related note, recently came across a disco version of “Theme from the Lord of the Rings” by the Aragorn Ballroom Orchestra, they tell me it used to be a cartoon series any one has any info on this show?

Defenatly will have to agree with K Bee! The disco version of "Incredible Hulk Theme" by Joe Harnell. That show in itself had tons of unreleased disco music in it aside from the theme's disco version which was released as a single only in 1978. If anyone gets the Sci Fi channel in the USA, starting tomorrow they are doing a Hulk marathon begining at 9am. 2 of the episodes gonna be shown on Tuesday's marathon have some great unreleased disco and funk music in it (that me and K Bee took from those episodes for this suite remix as well).

There used to be a sitcom back in 1979 starring Donna Pescoe I think it was called Different Worlds? Maureen McGovern sang the title theme. Donna was John Travolta's girlfriend in SNF.

I forget the exact year, but the theme from "Knot's Landing" was Disco-slanted, but it was for one season only.
Hearing that, prompted me to start watching the show - I loved that beginning!

Also, there was a Disco version of the theme from "Dallas" played at the clubs (but not TV).

I always liked the theme from "Charlie's Angels" (disco-fied) and "Laverne and Shirley" (Cindy Grecco, anyone?).

I'll have to go with Soul Train's theme "TSOP" by MFSB - a favorite up to this day. Following second is Dance Fever (hustle contest show) that used to play "Boogie Motion" by Beautiful Bend in the background every week along with the show's title song Dance Fever.

I don't know about the best but the cheesiest has got to be Disco Quando, the theme tune for the totally unique Italian series Stryx. As performed by Tony Renis, the sweeping Engelbert Humperdinck fave Quando Quando Quando turns into a piping falsetto affair, with slippery strings and a jolly rhythm for the topless chorus girls to jiggle their stuff to. This rendition was heard at least once during each episode of Stryx and was available for the dumbstruck public in stores as a 7-inch single.

"Trash" sang by Robin Gibb. I think "Trash" was theme from the Cookie Monster.
The classical "Theme from Star Trek" by Van McCoy. Leonard Nimoy is visiting Brazil this week. He lives in L.A.
"Theme from Kojak" by John Davis & The Monster Orchestra.

    Hi Marcio
I've always liked the "Theme from Kojak" preferably the faster tempo. The other version which is a bit slower has more horns and has a darker sound. Unfortunately TVLAND (cable) isn't showing Kojak at the moment so I can't tell you which theme came first. Most of all I had NO idea that John Davis & MO was behind the music.

Hey I almost forgot about the theme from "The Streets of San Francisco" - great jazzy stuff in a thrashy kinda sounding way.

Marcio I love that song. I heard on a disconet record myself. It was on a mix. Disconet Vol 2 Program 2 Bonus Side 2. I loved it but I had no idea it was from cookie monster. What a shock and disappointment!!! Now it seems embrassing

    Mixtape:
"Trash" by Robin Gibb (and his two children Spencer and Melissa Gibb on backing vocals) belongs to Sesame Street Fever LP (1978). "Trash" is just the first song on b-side and I love it too!

    Hustlebaby:
In Brazil the Sony Canal is showing 'Charlie's Angels', 'Starsky&Hutch' and 'Moonlighting'. 'Kojak' is outcast too!

So was "Trash" on a disconet??? I think the music in that is damn great and it coulda been a decent underground hit I think if it was put to different lyrics. Id like an instrumental of that one.

Great topic. I would have to say the theme from "Wonder Woman". I don't know who performed it but I've always looked forward each week for the show to air, 1st to hear the song and 2nd to see Lynda Carter in that suit. I also loved the theme to "S.W.A.T.", "Barreta", "Six Million Dollar Man" and "Hart To Hart". Also, I don't know if the theme to "The Jeffersons", "Movin' On Up", is considered a disco song or not, but one thing I do know is that it would make everyone dance when the show would air.

For me, it's the Starsky & Hutch theme without a doubt. I heard it again recently on a CD TV themes compilation and it standed out so brightly... Don't know who did it, but it still sounds trashily good.

I knew there was another Kojak theme!
This one is by Sylvia, "The Lollipop Man, Kojak Theme '77" this version is very Disco and "pretty", it was perfect for 'Hustle' dancing of the day.
