    Best DISCONET Remix / Medley

What do you think was the best remix or medley from Disconet, the original DJ Remix Service. I think the best medley from Disconet is The Original Cameo-parkway Medley. The blend of the 50's and 60's songs are just amazing!

    I have two:

    1) Raul Rodriguez's remix of Abba's "Lay All Your Love On Me". I would have never touched the record without this remix.

    2) Valapucci's remix of USA/European's "I'd Like to Get Closer/Do Me Good/ There's a Way Into My Heart". IMO this outshines the album hands down.

Hear, hear for the ABBA "Lay All Your Love On Me" remix--sheer perfection!!!! :D

I posted this in another thread which asked basically the same question:

I've been listening to an old tape on which I recorded the Disconet "Dance Classics compiled by Steve Thompson". This is, without a doubt, my favorite medley megamix, paying tribute to the early days of Disco.

Starts with "Let's Groove" - Archie Bell & The Drells (1975)
"Dreaming A Dream" - Crown Heights Affair (1975)
"Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel" - Tavares (1975)
"Ten Percent" - Double Exposure (1976)
"Mighty High" - Mighty Clouds Of Joy (1975)
"Down To Love Town - The Originals (1976)
"Free Man" - South Shore Commission (1975)
"Lovin' Is Really My Game" - Brainstorm (1977)

    Talk about yer "CLASSICS"!!!!!

It's all beautifully mixed up to the last song which is much faster than the preceding song...so it's just tastefully edited in.

Thompson went on to remix lotsa classics in the 1980's with a Michael Barbiero. One of my faves is Talk Talk's "It's My Life" with that exquisite breakdown.

Diana Ross & The Supremes Medley - for obvious reasons &
Karen Young's 'Deetour' - for a fairly creative turntable remix, with overdubs and extras.

It would have to be Danae Jacovidis' "At Midnight Medley". Just sublime! A morning music extravaganza that just pees!Seamless blending of these classics all over the top of T-Connection's "At Midnight" conga break:

YVONNE FAIR "It Should Have Been Me"
    THE SPINNERS "It's A Shame"
LAMONT DOZIER "Take Off Your Makeup"
    BIONIC BOOGIE "Dance Little Dreamer"
TIMMY THOMAS "Why Can't We Live Together?"
    GEORGE McCRAE "Rock Your Baby"
LOVE UNLIMITED "Under The Influence Of Love"
    BUDDY MILES "Pull Yourself Together"

Where's my head? You're right, his two medleys are exceptional.
