SOS Band was indeed a great band.
My choices:
- The Finest (one of my favorite Jam/lewis tracks ever)
- High Hopes (just damn funky)
- Groovin' (Thats What We're Doin') (a great party jam :) )
Coming at what I consider the tail end of the traditional disco era, this band offered a lot of great music. However I'll stick to my usual single pick. And the winner is..... High Hopes.
Find them and destroy them!

The intro to Just Be Good To Me.
Sorry, I found their stuff a little too samey after a while, but they didn't particularly annoy me or anything. I was just bored with most of their records. No real guts.
Even though it's a bit corny, I really like 'Take Your Time...'.
Others are:
'High Hopes'
'Groovin'...'
'I'm Not Runnin''
(a bit hi-nrg for me but quite strong all the same)
'No-One's Gonna Love You'
I credit a Washington band called Snow, Featuring Roxy Carter for instigating the slowish, robotic sound that would become S.O.S./Jam & Lewis trademark (which was rather overused by all). Their underground winner from '83, 'Everytime You're Around', blazed that trail first, to my memory.
What would you do without your muesli...where would you be without a bowl?
I would pick:
1) Take Your Time (Do It Right)
2) Just Be Good To Me
3) The Finest
I can't recall how "High Hopes" sounds...although I'm sure I have it. Duh.
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
"No One's Gonna Love You". I could listen to this all day.
You got that right.Originally Written by NickNack

I'm going with "Take Your Time (Do It Right)".
SOS BAND was one of my favorite bands from the 80's...
I didn't like their first 2 LP's very much unfortunately...
However, the next 3 LP's I got really into. :)
High Hopes
Have It Your Way
Tell Me If You Still Care
Just Be Good To Me
No One's Gonna Love You
Weekend Girl
Just The Way You Like It
Even When You Sleep
Borrowed Love
Nothing But The Best
The Finest
No Lies
Two Time Lover
Do You Still Want To?
my favorite varies from time to time between
Just The Way You Like It & Borrowed Love (12" version) & Have It Your Way
"SOS (dit dit dit dat dat dat dit dit dit)" never was a SOS Band's major hit (I think) but it's wonderful. Now I understand: the guitar imitates the sound of a Morse code :P . With strings (Bill Henderson) but the horns speak up.
If i had a choice i'd always choose love

Nowadays I like No lies, its's fast enough. I used to like Just be good to me and Finest back in the day, but they got boring.
