"Heat" is a guilty pleasure of mine. It was written and produced by Ritchie Rome. Flower was a supermodel in the 70s, which explains how someone with such a weak voice landed a record contract.
Is anyone here familiar with a disco artist (im guessing it's an artist and not a group by the cover) called Flower? I found out there are 2 LP's and I have one of em on a CDR via someone. This is the best damn thing I ever heard for discovering burried disco in a long time!! It's like Costandinos meets Ian Levine and takes Sumeria to another level..it's fuckin great! This LP I speak of is called "Heat" on MCA Records from 1979. There's a self titled one as well but dont have any info on it. If anyone knows what im talkin bout could someone tell me the producer, etc of the 1979 "Heat" LP?

Oh WOW! Woulda never guessed or known, id have to say this is Ritchie Rome's best work ever then!! Do you know any info on the other Flower LP? Also strange it being on MCA being Ritchie Rome..even makes it more of a gem! The one track that I absolutly cant stop listining to (it's playing right now as im typing this lol) is "Our Never Ending Love". My other choice track is the one right before this one.."Classical Love".

There is another one, but from what I gather, it's quite different. I think it was done in 1982, and I don't think Ritchie Rome was involved.Originally Written by DJ Jimmy M
How does your pressing sound ? I have about 5 as I've been unsuccessfully trying to find one that has "Classical Love" without an annoying hissing background noise towards the end of the track. I quess they heaved a whole load of useless pressings of Flower to a ship and dumped the load on our shores.
MCA's pressing standards were abysmal in the late 70s, so this is not surprising (witness anything on Butterfly). However, I have both US and Canadian copies of this one and I don't hear this problem on either of them. The EQ is quite strange though; it sounds like they tried to notch out her vocal during mixdown or mastering. :)
Speaking of records with constant hiss and surface noise, has anyone ever found a copy of Shirley Bassey's "I Capricorn" that sounds decent? (and you can forget about the recent CD, which was ruined by excessive NR and compression). I have three copies and they're all abysmal.
