Underground Hit [Level 5]
I have buyed this one from GEMM, it has the label "MATRA", made in Canada.
Is there anybody who knows if this is the original label for Carol's production? Or this is a "re-printing"? This label "MATRA" sounds a bit strange to me.
Because checking out in GEMM I have found that Carol Jiani's "Hit & Run Lover" was released by ARIOLA records.
Does ARIOLA label was the original one for Carol?!?

Matra is the original label, as far as Canadian releases go. I've got the "Hit And Run Lover" LP on Matra. Most of Lime's material was originally released on this label as well. I believe it has since been absorbed/bought out by Unidisc.

Yes, Matra is the original label for this song. I bought this song when it was originally released in 1981 and that was the label it was on.

Graham and Rab are correct, Masdefi. My "Hit and Run" lp is on Matra, the Canadian label. Ariola was the US domestic label for Carol. Matra was well known for good product (LePage/Lime) so you shouldn't be concerned about the label.
