    Bernie,
This change is well timed in more ways than one. I notice the site that was milking yours has disappeared in the past week - you don't have Mob connections, do you? 8)

Bernie, the new site looks great. Great to see you still around, the only thing I miss is the old "Dance Groove Radio" clips you used to do...too bad we can't have those again, I found out about a lot of great music I hadn't heard in years that way...(note to the RIAA, I then went out and bought it. Oh well...)

Label scans are now done for Record Vault entries up through the letter "I." Adding more as the days pass. Hope to make it to the "Z's: in another week or two barring any more unforseen problems.

Label scans are now done all the way through the letter "L." Don't forget to leave your comments on each record! Same goes for the interviews with DJs and artists.

Still making more changes, tweaking, bug fixes... throughout the site.

In an effort to improve the site and focus more on the music I have removed Pop-up ads and the Non-Music category in the forum. The What We Are Listening category is now rolled into Discuss Disco. Also the unlikely Disco artists section has been reorganized so it's easier for everyone to add new entries. The Top 500 charts will also be reorganized later this week.

Sorry to be a pain Bernie but is there any way I can just look at the non-music section of the Forum before it dissappears into the abyss? Thanks.

I'm sorry Steely, but that section and its contents have already been deleted.

    Bernie,

I must object to the removal of the non-music section. Why, pray tell, did that have to bite the dust?

Some of the most interesting stuff was written in that section and I, for one, feel I have to register a complaint.

there was some cool stuff in that section...

Will you be bringing the section back? someday? I think some of us like to talk about movies and other junk. :)

I also would like to see the non-music section put back in. There were some really interesting discussions there.

I dont like to moan as the new site is brilliant but I think it would've been nice if we'd been warned that the non-music section was finishing; there were threads that were still on-going. These could've been 'tied-up' before the axe fell. :(

After reading everyone's remarks I do regret not telling everyone first about the section's removal. For that I am very sorry. I should have been more considerate that others were following topics instead of technical specs... There should have been a chance for closure of topics, which is something that didn't even cross my mind. Please accept my apologies on my oversight.

With the limited resources server and database-wise I have chosen to devote those limited resources to the site's primary focus which has always been music. C'mon guys I took a big step by getting rid of those pop-ups :-) I'm trying as best as I can to make the site the best it can be and hope you will understand. Thanks!

    Better late than never...

Hey Bernie - great job. I am sorry to be such a irregular visitor but life is a little upside-down right now and that is an understatement...

I love the fact that we can contribute to the database, and although I haven't had the time to look at it yet, I will, and you know what/who I will be looking for

I'm dissappointed that Bernie did away with the non-music section.

Now how am I going to keep up with "American Idol", Ben and Jen, Liza and any other celebrity gossip??? :o :o

Forgot to mention that ALL record label scans (A-Z) are now complete in the Disco Record Vault A-Z.

If you have Disco records of your own to ADD please do or consider leaving a comment or review on existing entries. Your input and participation is greatly encouraged. Before you can add your info please REGISTER for the MAIN site.

Haven't been to the forum in a while though submitted the occasional record to the vaults. Anyhow I've only just discovered the non-music related forum was deleted and was curious as to why until reading this post. I actually thought it was because of the Schwartzy topics because it's about politics or there might have been another quick flamewar outbreak of somekind. Anyhow the removal of the non-music related forum is no skin off my nose as this site is about disco music :D !!!

Anyhow glad Bernie takes steps to remove popups as popups are bloody annoying!!! My Countdown website I recently moved to another server as I get 50mb free, the catch to it is one popup ad but it's better than something like over 5 popups like I've seen on some of the Australian television history websites.

Keep up the good work Bernie :D !

The site will go through a complete and total change. It's not just window dressing folks. Working as hard and as fast as I can to get it ready by October.

The new site will be interactive and offer members the ability to add their records to the Disco Records Vault A-Z, CDs and stories as well as leave comments and reviews on the above. As with the forum you'll need to register first and sign in.

Since the forum and main site are seperate I ask that everyone use the exact same username and password as they now use for the forum. Please make a note of your current forum username and password as you will need it to register for the new site. Do not e-mail me as I do not have that info.

REPEAT: When the new site goes on-line, please register using the EXACT username and password that you use for the forum. This will be very important as I hope to merge the member info at some time in the future.

I'll try to post a quick sneak peak if possible, but don't hold me to it.
Bernie: will we ever be able to do video chats with each other? I'd probably be too shy to do it anyway but I'd sure show off the covers of some of my disco records.
