Hi mace097
The 1st one is Float On - by the Floaters
it was a 1 hit wonder for them here in the uk
It got number 1 on 23rd July 1977
Greeting to all,
I'm in dire need of help from the experts.
It would mean alot to me to have these two songs I.D.ed.
I've heared them once or twice back around 1977-78 on WBLS Radio in the Big Apple, (mabye they received more air-play and I wasn't around to catch it).
The first one is a male vocal that reminds me of Marvin Gaye. It had like a zodiac theme to it. He would sing part and then speak as though reciting poetry. Phrases like'"Cancer, my name is..."? I can't remember well. Also,"OOh, take my hand, come with me baby to love...?" I'm still surprised I remember that much. It was like a slow-dance song.
The second one had the phraes "It's summertime and I'm feeling....?" It reminded me of MFSB, mostly instrumental, slow and jazzy.Sorry, that's the best that I could do :(
I don't know if these songs would be considered disco, but since I heard it on that station I could never forget these tunes in particular. It was a part of my music experience from back then.
I Thank You for any help you can offer.

Keep the Faith
Hi mace097,
WELCOME TO THE BOARD
You're right about your second song. It's an MFSB tune called "Summertime and I'm Feelin' Mellow", from their 1976 album, SUMMERTIME.
Hope to see you around the forums. :)
Nicky
