 I can't believe it, two years have passed from that tragic day and what have we learned? As mentioned previously in this forum, I lost a friend that day, Alan Merdinger, who worked on the 102nd floor of the north tower. In tribute to him and all the others who lost their lives that day, I wanted to create a list of songs that would pay tribute and honor those who we will never forget. Please add to this list with songs that you feel are appropriate.
Harvest for the world - The Isley Brothers
Love to the world - L.T.D.
Unity - The O'jays
Wake up everybody - Harold Melvin & The Bluenotes
Let's get it together - El Coco
Manhattan Skyline - David Shire
Expansions - Lonnie Liston Smith (Courtesy of Jazzman)
Dreaming a dream - The Crown Heights Affair
What's going on - Marvin Gaye
Love is the message - MFSB
Finally, I want to say thanks to those on this forum who show that we can get along, regardless of our differences.
Easy,
Sam "ALL JAM"
Your ten picks are excellent - I don't think i could add to that list. Including a tune that often makes me think and is one of the very very best of its kind - Wake Up Everybody - including the lines
WAKE UP ALL YOU BUILDERS
GOT TO BUILD A NEW LAND
We should all think about that - whoever and whatever we are.
And thanks for the mention of Expansions by Lonnie Liston Smith. Expand Your Mind - that's something I try to do every day.
Maybe put these songs on CD and send them to the Bush Administration!
Leather is the way forward!
Timmy Thomas - Why Can't We Live Together says it all for me.
Great pick Quinny; As you said, I think 'Why can't we live together' sums it up perfectly. Leatherman, thanks for the idea, I think I will make a CD comp of these songs. Not for the President, but rather for myself.
Easy,
Sam "ALL JAM"
The message of "Spread LOve" By Al Hudson and the Partners is absolutely wonderful.
I\'m a Victim ( of th very Song I sing )
Blaze -We all must live together
Elton John -Are you ready for love
