Best From Artist 58 - Carrie Lucas

Well, there certainly was a lot of enthusiasm for the Rockers artist. Now back to pure disco.
I had to come back with the woman who did my #1 song in 2 of the 3 top 500 songs. "Dance With You" is simply awesome. The first time I heard this song at the disco I was hooked. I just noticed they recently released another greatest hits from Carrie. Doing an AMG check on it I came across artists like Jody Watley who did background vocals. I was pleasantly surprised. :)

LOL  . That means I can get into this

As for Carrie Lucas, "Dance With Me" would be the obvious choice. It's still an amazing cut, but more recently I've been getting into "Show me Where You're Coming From" as well

All this old Solar stuff still holds today :D
    There was life after disco!!

    Paul,

I also enjoyed Dance With You, but I never really went any further with other tracks... I'll just have to see what others from the board likes... and check 'em out. :)

As you noticed, the "Rockers" thread turned into yet another debate on when disco died. Anyways, the only Carrie Lucas song I know is "Dance With You", and I like the song, so I'll go with that one.

Besides "Dance With You", "I Gotta Keep Dancin' (Keep Smiling)" and "It's Not What You've Got (It's How You Use It)" are two more of my faves from Carrie Lucas. :P

She really was a one hit wonder, wasn't she? Strictly speaking no , but although I had other records by her, there's only the one that has really, really stuck in my mind. Dance With You - a CLASSIC piece of disco.

    Dance With You
Danceland (thanks, Kelvy :) ) --- Gene Page working it again!
It's Not What You Got (It's How You Use It) --- "Ooh, Baby Love" always gets me going.
    Fashion
I Gotta Keep Dancin' and/or Keep Smilin' --- both versions were club favorites. My friend Art can tell you how our friend Leo decided to pick this song to become fascinated with my mixing technique one night at the Anvil  . Talk about endless love...

"Sometimes A Love Goes Wrong" is my favorite song from Carrie Lucas. From this same LP which Carrie Lucas was dressing a blue dress on the sleeve I also like "Are You Dancing" with a very light backing vocals.

As well as Dance with you, I gotta keep dancin' and Danceland, I would strongly recommend listening to Tic Toc, and Street Corner Symphony is quite charming as well.

I am a huge fan of Carrie Lucas, such a sweet voice.
Another track not mentioned and worth discovering: "Career girl"
If you buy this record your life, will be better.
