Thats weird 'cos I played the 7" of this track last week for the first time in years! I didn't know that there was a 12" mix of this brilliant pop/rock classic; how interesting. Its always been one of my all-time favourite non-disco tracks.
Hey, I was wondering if anyone can tell me the major differences between the album version of "Driver's seat"
and the 12" disco mix on Chiswick 1978? which I never
could find. It was just recently resampled by a French
disco house group for this infectious cut called "Summer
heat" and I vaguely remember it was used on a Pioneer
commercial years back, and I think also in Boogie nights.
Any info is appreciated.![]()

...ya gotta beat the street......
Billy,
Have the cd version here before me, the short version is 3:59, the long is 5:42
The long version has a longer intro and slightly longer break, with a little more emphasis on
the (snare) drums throughout.
Can't tell the differece to the album version as i loaned the album " Fickle heart" to a colleague
about 15 years ago :(
