    Hi efunk!

    1) You didn't list an answer.

    5) I'm not sure which year Brides Of Funkenstein did "Disco To Go", but if it's 1978, The Goddess grants you credit for an answer :) . I'm still looking for a different group/song (I didn't realize they were so obscure).

    6) Not TGIF. Hint: it wasn't a disco film.

    7) You didn't list an answer.

    8) Nope. SUPERHINT: the song was a cover of someone else's song, the lead singer is famous for much more than disco, and the song was originally from the soundtrack of a film.

    9) NOPE! There are lots of Peters in porn , but that wasn't his name.

    A tough quiz..

I think I have come up with a few answers..

    Ron "Have Mercy" Kersey..

Did The Brooklyn Dreams appear in "Foxes"?

Terri Nunn appeared in "Thank God It's Friday"..

Was Gary Criss a member of The Hillside Singers ("I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing")?

Luther appeared on several albums by Change and Chaka Khan..

Was the group spawned bt Parliment/Funkadelic, Parlet? I cannot think of the name of their record..

    Am I warm????

DON'T KNOW THE SONG. WAS THE GROUP 'AWB'; OR 'GOOD VIBRATIONS' (HIS BEACH BOYS TRIBUTE); HIS OWN BAND, 'LUTHER', ON COTILLION? I REALLY WANT TO SAY 'CHANGE' BUT WEREN'T THEY 1980/81? HELL, JUST TELL ME!

    1) Both JJ and Nick got this one easily....Ron was indeed known as "Have Mercy" Kersey.

    3) JJ, Gary Criss wasn't in the Hilltop Singers, but that's a VERY good guess! :) You are on the right track.Rack your brain a bit more with the 70's jingles and I believe you will come up with the answer.

6)Brooklyn Dreams were NOT in "Foxes", but again that's a good guess!

    7) Terri Nunn was in "TGIF"....well done, JJ! Nick gets partial credit for his "six degrees of separation" answer....well done!

    8) Nick, I got ya on this one.....you haven't guessed it yet! I'll reveal the answer if it's not guessed in 24 hours. I promise you, when you find out what it is, you'll be smacking yourself in the head and saying "Of course!"

Kleeer's "Tonight's The Night" is one, but I'm sure there were many others.

9 ) What was Dennis Parker's porn name?
    Wade Nichols.

    8) I'm wondering if I made this question too vague.....I should have stated that it was a moderate hit with medium club/airplay and that the lead singer is a major gay icon. Graham and Nick have given answers that may be correct, but this song is definitely not obscure.....and the lead singer isn't, either!

    9) Graham has answered correctly that Dennis Parker's porn name was Wade Nichols.

    5) JJ, don't go too crazy, m'love.....you got it! It was Parlet's "Pleasure Principle"! Well done!

I'm intrigued to see if you'll get the Gary Criss question....as I said you are on the right track!

Guys, I've never done one of these before, so I'd like some feedback: were my questions too easy, too hard, just right....? I will do another quiz if you liked this one.

JJ. it's good to see another Brooklynite (we have another boroughmate here: the Most Excellent Lord Of Flatbush).

BTW, I didn't see your Parlet answer at 19:05....my bad.

You have given me part of the Luther answer I was looking for (Bette Midler). I'm throwing out the question as being unfair because I wasn't specific enough in posing it. The answer I was looking for was: "(The World Is Full Of) Married Men" by the Divine Miss M!!!!! Listen to the song closely, you can easily hear Luther on the B/Vs. He even appeared with Bette in September of '79 doing the B/Vs on "Saturday Night Live".

The remaining questions will remain up until tomorrow afternoon.....then I promise a tougher, tighter set of questions for the new quiz.

Efunk, thanks for the info....for some reason I thought "Brides" came out earlier.

My next set of questions will be more specific, and I'll try to keep them challenging without being unfair.

    Goddess,

I got here late...my hard drive crashed...but I'm up and running once again!!!

I don't think anyone answered #2--the Angela Bofill question or did they????

Anyway, I say Miss Bofill sang on "Wuthering Heights" by Ferrara; "Love Attack" & "Shake It Baby Love" were the hits.
    "Lost inside adorable illusion...."

Prince Marky DeFad has indeed answered #2.....Angie Bofill sang B/Vs on the Ferrara album.

Marky, hope your HD is OK.....it's usually better to just buy a new CPU than trying to fix a dying hard drive. :(

    Goddess,

I thought the quiz questions were great. Fun, not too hard, not too easy, made you think and beat yourself up because you know you should know the answers. Can't wait for round 2. :D

Hi everyone! Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier with the official answers. Everyone did a really great job, and thanks to all who participated. You have already answered most of these.

    1) "Have Mercy"

    2) Ferrara's "Wuthering Heights"

    3) Gary Criss was in The Glass Bottle. They were a marginal pop group, but were well-known for their commercial jingle used in a national anti- can campaign for the bottling industry:

Soft drinks taste great in a bottle (It's uncanny)
You see the color in front of your eyes (It's uncanny)
Soft drinks taste great in a bottle
And bottles come in every shape and size....

Yeah, I know it's not f#$%ing Mozrt, but it was a successful commercial campaign

    4) Dewdrop's "Chick A Boom" was first heard on the "Archies" spin-off "Sabrina And The Groovie Ghoulies".

    5) Parlet/Brides Of Funkenstein

    6) Brooklyn Dreams appeared as The Planetones in "American Hot Wax".

    7) Terri Nunn appeared in "Thank God It's Friday", and Giorgio Moroder worked with Berlin.

    8. I dropped the ball here...I was looking for "(The World Is Full Of) Married Men", but there were many possible answers. Mea Culpa.

    9) Dennis Parker appeared in straight porn (and at least one gay porn film) under the name of Wade Nichols.

    Thanks again!
