Northern Soul Track

Trying to identify a Northern soul track - I've not heard it for at least 10 years. Lyrics go something like: 'Come back baby, you're doing fine- hidehidehidehi hodehodehodeho don't you know, don't you know"

Sorry Stan, thats all I can recall. The hidehi.....bit is very clear, but some of the rest may be misheard lyrics. A male singer with female back-up echoing i.e come back baby (male) followed by a female repeat. I've tried the search engines but no luck so far. Cheers
