    Metallica

Are there any Metallica fans here besides me? I'm a long-time fan of theirs, and while I was disappointed with their latest album ("St. Anger"), they're one of my favorite bands. I saw them last Saturday (on their "Summer Sanitarium" show), and as usual, they kicked ass. I would like to see what other people here think of them.

    Outsider,

you'll probably think why this song? but this is something that I can listen to by them and enjoy at the same time.

    I Disappear :D

I think they're talented for obvious reasons (million selling LP's) but just a little to hard edge rock to like more songs...

    Well fellas,

there's no way I can call METALLICA a classic rock band, even if they are "old" now. The last time I saw METALLICA perfoming live on TV, they sounded sloppy - too much money, too much chicks, too much drugs, who knows what happened to the guys? And their last album is a mess - I'm sure nobody will call it a "classic". METALLICA's heyday is long gone, folks. They're not among the best rock'n'roll band in the word these days. I hope I live long enough to see JAMES HATFIELD "singing" his "classics" when he's 62 years old. This will be very funny !

It's interesting that Outsider saw Metallica performing live recently. Less than a month ago, the band cancelled their entire South American tour (including one gig in Buenos Aires) due to "stress and massive exhaustion". Pretty curious for a band that just released a new album.
Their fans here were really angry. They played here two times and now they already had the River Plate stadium sold out (around 50,000 people) to see them play. Now they're doing threads to re-cash their tickets.

I think Metallica was good in the 80s and the one 1990 LP that went to the Bilboard charts. I wouldnt call myself a die hard fan but I did buy alot of their stuff durring the 80s and was quite disapointed when that "Load" came out. Metallica has sold out to the alternative grunge crap now, they're just in it for the money these days, not what they enjoy doing like it was in the 80's.

Metallica's Best LP are the first 3 (Kill em' All, Ride the Lightning, and Master of Puppets 8) ) they started to "sell-out" by "..and justice for all" (except "Battery" which kept their Black Sabbath on Speed sound). "Load" and everything after seems to be too commercialized :x .. I think after the original bass player died they became unfocused.

Just when you thought it was all over - no, no, no
