Together In Electric Dreams (Giorgio Moroder w/ Phil Oakey)

I like this song, would like to hear other's opinions.

Kind of a Hi-NRG meets new New Wave hybrid.

Agree wholeheartedly. First bought this as a UK import 12" and played it to death. There was another gpod song from this movie by Giorgio Moroder and Helen Terry with "Now You're Mine." His later track "Goodbye Bad Times" is another must play from the period.

This was a big record in the UK charts. It's one of my wife's favourites from the period. Don't be surprised to hear that it didn't particularly press my buttons. I could take it or leave it, but did play it to the masses.

This was a pretty big hit here in Holland too, played it every gig for a few
    months because of good response.

Personally i got the creeps from this song rather quick, after really going wild over it
initially, not enough real soul or
feeling in it (too electronic and poppy) for my taste. :-?

Not unlikeable, saccharine electro-pop! Now, let's get going on Aneka's 'Japanese Boy'!!!! :D

    New Release

    Saw this on Amazon yesterday:

PHILIP OAKLEY/GIORGIO MORODER (7 BONUS TRACKS) IMPORT

Originally released in 1985, now remastered and reissued with updated artwork and seven bonus tracks.
Made up from extended and instrumental mixes taken from the original 12" singles.

I don't have a clue what album they're talking about but it sounds interesting. :)

I really like this song, brings back sweet memories. I was very young at that time and I can remeber me and my brother sitting on a Sunday morning in front of the tele with a tape recorder to tape the songs from the video my parents rented for us, because we really really loved them.

Actually any Moroder fans must buy the reissue of this album. It'll have the 12" (and instrumentals) of the singles. The album Moroder and Phil Oakey came out after he had a hit with Electric Dreams from the Electric Dreams soundtrack.

Side 1 is the highlight--it's a medley of 4 tracks (one instrumental) in the classic style Moroder used to alwasy do on his 70s disco records

If anyone is into the style of this Oakey/Moroder thing I suggest you try seeking out the soundtrack for "Scarface" (1983). Moroder produced most of the song on that album and it is very similar in style to "Eletric Dreams"
