    Innuendo-laden Pop Songs...

    Hi All .
Think of this as an adjunct to remicks' "Do it " and "Underage pop song" threads, where euphemisms abounded.
Be it to avoid radio station black-listing or just plain mischievous fun, innuendo-ridden songs are part of popular culture.
So, rather than confine ourselves to disco music lets *ahem* open things up a bit. It shouldn't be too hard !! So I'll stop beating around the bush and back to the matter in hand.
( Sorry about the double entendres , I don't know what came over me .)

An obvious starter ( long version of course !!)

Chuck Berry : My Ding A Ling

Salsoul Orchestra: You're Just the Right Size

and, looking quite nostalgic in this clip, Serge Gainsbourg et Jane Birkin - Je t'aime moi non plus

Gainsbourg, one recalls, was great at adapting rock'n'roll devices like the "Louie, Louie" / "Twist and Shout" montuno progression here, and an overall Shirelles sound in "La Javanaise."

Confectionery time again, courtesy of that gallic wastrel Serge Gainsbourg. He seems to pop-up everywhere !
Here France Gall sings about the joys of sucking anis-flavoured lollipops.
Serges' smirk throughout says it all !!!

It should be pointed out that this ditty seriously damaged her career at the time; she has since refused to either talk about or sing the track !!

Here's a great example of inadvertant innuendo.
The song takes on an entirely new complexion for us in the U.K. as 'shag' is a common euphenism for, well, you know...
I've NEVER heard this played on British radio.......
