    Question about Disco Circus

This is about the group, not the Martin Circus song.

I never had the lp, only the 12" of "Over and Over", so I picked up the CD put out there by Hot Productions. (Only $3.99, what the hell.) What I'd like to know is, if what I got is the original lp with the full length songs. Here's the track list of the CD:

IN A GADDA DA VIDA / GARDEN OF EDEN 7:13
    DIG IT 6:24
    SOUL SISTER 3:50
    OVER AND OVER 6:06
    GET UP AND DANCE 6:14
    THE MEXICAN 5:02

Reason I ask is that "Soul Sister" seems to fade right when it's going to get into something serious. Wondering why since the total time of the six tracks is close to only 45 minutes. No need for unnecessary edits. :o

I don't have this album yet, but looking at the one Bernie has listed here in the vault it shows:

    1. Over and over 9:07
    2. Get up and dance 6:15
    3. The mexican 5:03
    4. In a dadda da/Garden of eden 7:40
    5. Dig it 6:20
    6. Soul sister 3:50

It's slightly different the what you have and soul sister is still listed at 3:50, but Hot Productions is well known for editing song even when not need. I bought Celi Bee's Fly me on the wings of love and found the title song cut from 12 mins to 7 mins, there was plenty of space for the entire song. This is the reason I stop buying cd's and switched to vinyl full time.

    Allan,

    Thank you.

Nick, I have the U.S. promo and the track lengths are the same as what has already been listed. What did you think of the half-assed version of "The Mexican" on the Disco Circus album? The only interesting part of the song is the "The Good, The Bad And The Ugly" interlude in the middle of the song. It's a shame that the rest of the album doesn't measure up to "Over And Over".

I know this thread isn't about 'Disco Circus', but I've always wondered about the source of a bootleg version I have of the track - it's not the megamix version with other records mixed in, but a genuine re-mix of 'Disco Circus'. I got this in the early '90s and it's on a label called Remix Service, with 'K-Jee' and 'Dancing In Outer Space' on the flip.
Anybody know if an official re-mix of 'Disco Circus' ever came out at the time or slightly later?

    Goddess,

Without a doubt their version of The Mexican is horrid. I couldn't even get into it and I like that song. I don't particularly care for the lp mix of "Over and Over" either, but that's probably because I've played the 12" for so long. The album over all is weak. Even Roberta Kelly's guest spot on "Get Up and Dance" is forgettable.
