    I recently found this record:

    LOVE COMMITTEE

    A-side: LAW AND ORDER

B-side: JUST AS LONG AS I GOT YOU

(special 12 inch WALTER GIBBONS disco mix)

    > on GOLD MIND RECORDS 1975

I like the A-sde the most, some nice breaks the end.

Does anyone know more about Love committee? Is this a good buy? Do they have more 12's or albums?

    Boogie on,

I am very jealous, because your Walter Gibbons remixed b-side is a collectors item.

I don't like Love Committee very much, but I am still hunting for that Walter Gibbons remix. Check out the link to CDNow or Amazon below and type in their album name. I am sure you can find some listening links there.

I'm glad to know that i found a rare record, cause it only costed me half an Euro at a garage sale.

The A-side: "Law & Order" also has a Walter

Gibbons mix! And its fantastic, it starts with lots of vocal, but halfway the song it changes and becomes a vocal-free, percusion driven disco song with a fat bass and a nice hammond organ to back it up!

When I picked up this record, I didn't know the Love Committee, but it was the label that triggered my attention: Gold Mind records because on the record it says this was distrubuted by Salsoul records. But i've had never heard of Gold Mind before.

I also found a record by OZILA > OZILA 2001

    Vogue records - 1979

Its a mix of african beat, funk and disco tunes by some french africans? There are some great tunes on it with nice sax sounds. The titel track is surely inspired by 2001 a space oddyssey and that disco version of the StarWars theme. There's also that a big Afro-disco stomper called "Honey Honey" on it. The most surprising song must be JEZUS. An disco ode to the Man himself. Not my favorite tune, but surely very funny

Off the top of my head Gold Mind had BUNNY SIGLER, FIRST CHOICE and LOLEATTA HOLLOWAY on their artist list.

"Law and Order" is simply CLASSIC!! The Walter Gibbons drum break is gorgeous.

I know a couple of albums by Love Committee: "Law and order" on GoldMind GA 9500 from 1978, and "Love Committee" on T-Electric MCA 3223 from 1980.

Other classic 12"s on Goldmine are:

True Example: Love is finally comin' my way

Bunny Sigler: By the way you dance

Bunny Sigler: Let me party with you

    First Choice: Love thang

    First Choice: Doctor Love

    First Choice: Double cross

    First Choice: Hold your horses

    Loleatta Holloway: Hit and run

Loleatta Holloway: Catch me on the rebound

    Loleatta Holloway: Love sensation

John Ozila did a couple of albums on the french Vogue label around 1979, the most famous, and sought after, is the classic afrofunk "Boogie salsa"

Law & Order 12" Single - Love Committee b/w Just as long as I got you "Excellent indeed!"

Honorable Mention - 12" Single Cheaters Never Win by Love Committee, in case you're ever in a mellow mood.
