I don't see it either. Say it isn't so, Bernie.

Is there some kind of conspiracy of silence going on here? I thought there would be a massive fuss kicked up over the disappearance of dancegroove radio, but I hear nothing. Apart from the bulletin boards, it's the only reason I visit discomusic.com. What's the story. Copyright problems?
I'm saddened too. I don't get on a computer often but always tried to listen to the program each week. I learned a lot about the genre from listening to the tunes and heard things I hadn't heard before. It almost always caused at least one blast from the past.
Mysteriously, the subject uses the phrase "*already* off the air" which implies that there was some prior warning that this might happen, which I totally missed.

Hi Billy,
Bernie did give us a warning a week or so ago. He tried to prevent exactly what's happening --- people asking where it is. Bernie also put some links in his post which explain the situation in detail.
Sad, but the people who want the money for playing their tunes are wiping out the "little guy" trying to keep his business afloat.

How many of those artists were one, hit wonders?
How about those artists who haven't had a hit record for over twenty years?
What about those artists who are deceased (Rest In Peace)?
Oh, I see the deal, it's those who bought the publishing rights from the original artists who all of sudden cry broke!
Man listen, there are websites that are playing these hits whether they're old or new for free and you can't stop them all.
Taking away DanceGroove Radio was strictly business, but you can't take away Forum talk on DiscoMusic.com!

Yes I am also saddened by the demise of 'Dance Groove Radio'. Unfourtanly the 'Legal' higher ups have gotten thier finger into the pie. 'Dance Groove Radio' was a FREE service that promoted 'Dance Music' at no cost to the 'Artists', 'Promoters', 'Labels' and yes the 'Copywrite Holders'. All of the before metioned people/companies benifitted by having a major website promote thier music for 'FREE'!! I myself have had several of my mixes featured on 'Dance Groove Radio'. I enjoyed mixing (especially older forgotten songs/artist) and having a world-wide audience listen to it. I myself think the 'Legal Higher-Ups' should worry more about web sites that deal with file sharing programs (and there are alot of them out there), CD Burner manufacturers (maybe they should send money for each burner sold that might or might not violate copywrite laws) and the makers of 'Blank Recordable CD's'!! Hopefully in the near future the legal matters will be settled and Bernie can again place 'Dance Groove Radio'on this wonderful site. Til that happens I still enjoy and tell people about his site and enjoy the forums.

DiscoMusic.com was introduced to myself from Marty Angelo of Disco Step-by-Step TM fame.
The forum section is a vital part for conversation with people from all sectors of the world. For the period of time that I was briefly introduced to this site, DanceGroove Radio was a bonus hit for this award, winning web-site.
DanceGroove Radio was the next, best thing to an open turntable session for all to hear.
It was an outlet for aspiring DJ's to get a chance for the world to relive the memories.
Maybe, it was advertisement of the songs from yesterday; Unfortunately, the genre of the classics isn't as marketable as Hip/Hop R&B for the powers that be.
The politics involved from freedom of speech caused an opportunity for others to monopolize on such a profitable market.
God blessed myself to have my dream, come true; In March 2001, Joe Causi from the KTU Studio 54 Clubhouse included yours truly in their rotation of Classic DJ's. The road to the top continued in March 2002 with a performance on the Jammin Party Mix Weekend on formerly known as Jammin 105, both in New York City.
My point is this: The road to success didn't fall into everyone's lap; DanceGroove Radio was the answer to those aspiring, DJ's prayers when politics, talent and other reasons prevented those from being heard.
Bernie, I'm so proud that I was introduced to the forum and other parts of your award, winning web-site. The support will continue to receive high votes from myself along with others.
When the smoke clears, DanceGroove Radio will return for all to hear.
Keep the faith and everything will come your way as time marches on!
I was just getting ready to send Bernie several of my recent Disco/HINRG Mixes. It has been a LONG time since I visted and sent mixes to this website & I am saddened to see that DanceGroove Radio was removed. Several of my mixes were featured on the show. Well, I have some of my mixes on LIVE365.com. If you have the urge from some Disco/HINRG, do a search for WUAKEEN at LIVE365.COM. From what I know, there is no problem with my mixes being up on that sight, I actually have to pay but its worth it. Here is the direct link: http://www.live365.com/cgi-bin/direc...chdesc=wuakeen
Yep,
I was also disappointed that Dance groove is off the air, (Hopefully temporarily). Listening to some of the classics really made my week. I was even starting to like it when Bernie called me one of his "Disco Children"Bring it back Bernie!
I wanted to publicly thank Bernie for the opportunity he gave me and other DJ's to show their mixing talents on his weekly Dance mixshow. I was lucky enough to be featured on the last show just a couple of weeks ago and I feel it's a shame that the powers that be feel the way they do. The Dance Groove Radio show, along with this site, was just an outlet for true fans of classic dance music to share there love for the genre. Nothing was to be gained from it except the joy and pleasure I and others received every week from music that brought back memories and lifted our spirits whether we were listening to it or playing it for the masses. Bernie, I truly hope your voice and our music will be heard again on your weekly show real soon. Thanks again.
Easy,
Sam "ALL JAM"
