Several months ago, I think there was a thread in this forum about the Prom Night soundtrack music which might help.
Hi ppl!
There is this 1980 Jamie Lee Curtis movie, "Prom Night", whose soundtrack i've been trying 2 find for a long time. I keep reading that it is unavailable: i only know Paul Zaza was involved in it. Still, i suspect some of the music was not composed by him: there is a track played during the final killings in the movie that goes
"love me till i die/keep me satisfied/i'll tell you why/u gotta love me, love me, love me til i die"
and i'm still wondering, after all these years, who is it that sings it and where can i get it!
So, if anyone has info on how i can get the soundtrack, the names of the ppl involved in such miraculous music, i would appreci8 it infinitely! :D
Hugzz, kisses and positive vibes.

Hi,
I have, in the form of MP3, the complete soundtrack which you mention, and of course own the movie, Prom Night, 1980 starring Jamie Lee Curtis. I can find no cover, but here are the songs as listed:
1. All is gone
2. Prom night theme
3. Changes
4. Dancing in the moonlight
5. Fade to black (sung by gordean simpson)
6. All is gone (instrumental)
7. time to turn around
8. love me till I die
9. Prom night theme (version 2)
10. Forever
The song you refer to would be the one "love me till I die" played at the end of the movie, right before the ending credits song "fade to black".
Hope this helped you..
Jeff

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. About 2 years ago I was asking about 'Love Me Till I Die', come to find out the artist wasn't credited. I guess that was before I discovered Google.
Now that you mentined it, this will be my next mission.
Nowadays it can't be found anywhere unless you go to a major city like New York or Los Angeles, and PRAY that you find a house of oldies joint that MIGHT still have an album (yes, ALBUM) available. Someone told me he sold the same Prom Night album a few years ago that he went to Tokyo to buy for about 100 American bucks converted from Japanese currency. I still wonder if it's worth the trip. :icon_rolleyes:

I can officially say that the soundtrack for "Prom Night" does exist. I own a copy. It was released only in China by RCA Records.
I started searching for the soundtrack back in 1980 when the movie came out. I was never able to find anything about it but I never gave up. I would search in good wills, tag sales and record stores. I inquired about ordering it though retail record stores but always came up with nothing. Then when EBay first came online I was one of the first members. I searched for about 2 years on EBay until finding someone selling a copy. I just about freaked out. I was determined to win the LP no matter what the price. Well glad to say that I did win it. I paid $300.00 for it. And I can say it is worth every penny. I would have paid $1000.00. The copy I have was given to the producers of the film. It came with a letter thanking them and asking them to consider funding an upcoming movie they were going to be producing named "Curtains", another Canadian Horror Movie. The cover and LP are near MINT. There is alternate artwork in the cover and the graphics are nice. What I find funny is that at some point someone wrote on the inside slip case "1980's Crappy Disco Music". It’s so funny how people have such different tastes.
I have no idea what the album is worth now but I would never sell it. I recorded it on my computer and cleaned it up with audio cleaning software and it sounds great.
I have no idea why it was never released here in the USA. Over the years I have come across so many people looking for it. It would have done well.
So people, don’t give up...keep searching. I’m sure eventually you will find a copy. It’s a great record and well worth the effort. Maybe with the release of the 2008 “Prom Night” remake someone will release this lost gem.

OK but is there ANY way someone can identify the artist(s) for 'Love Me Till I Die'? I know the song didn't just come out of thin air! LOL! I'm not really sure Google works well on this subject.
It's Paul Zaza & Carl Zittrer...this soundtrack was in a way like a library LP (not to mention Zaza was a library artist after his early days with THP Orchestra)...they are all knock offs of popular disco tunes in one way or another..so like library stuff, the LP credits the writers and composers as the artists. Blue Bazzar is the only "group" credited on there for the 2 pop ballads. Here, check out the post I made in the disco vault..this is all the info and will answer all humanly possible questions:
