Why do the vietnamese call italo disco like New Wave.
Its more different than simillar.

Probably because to a country which is culturally, linguistically, and geographically about as far away from the origins of these genres as one can get, there wouldn't seem to be much difference between them. I certainly could not correctly name any Vietnamese styles of music, so I wouldn't expect any Vietnamese people to know the finer points of Western musical sub-genres which weren't even around for a decade.

Hey Bruno, you seem to give good answers. So are you saying that they do not know the difference
or that the two styles are closer than one think. Like you mention more different, than simillar.

Damned clever chappies, these Vietnamese. Nobody's ever discovered what happened to old wave - I bet the Vietnamese know the answer to that conundrum too.

I always felt that New Wave had the disco elements as well.
I just feel that Italo disco and New Wave is somewhat different
because New Wave feel is a little more rock.

kinda Disco - ish New wave groups like Pet shop boys, Erasure, Anything Box, Some Soft Cell.
So I know what you are trying to say.
