Grace Jones "Muse" and "Fame" coming on CD... from Gold Legion

This is kind of a good news/bad news thing. Gold Legion has these two Grace Jones albums listed as upcoming releases:

"Fame" is listed as a 10/28/2011 release:

Based on their previous history, these may be out in October and November of 2012!

Hi everybody:

I got an email from Goldlegion.com saying that they will make available for the first time both albums of Grace Jones in CD Fame & Muse.
I sent them an email asking if they will include bonus tracks for both CDs and the answer is:

"Unfortunately, we did try to get bonus tracks (12" mixes B-sides etc), but were only able to license this album as it was originally. Rather than pass on the project we though it would still do well even without the bonus tracks. All the releases are mastered from the original master tapes too and will contain extensive booklet with artwork and liner notes." Regards Greg.

So I wonder why they didn't get the rights (licence) to add the bonus tracks? is it because of Island records? or Mr Tom Moulton ?

Not that I am in the industry, but from I've been able to gather over the years, labels will sometimes license their product out to other labels for CD reissue. However, many times, they must be released as is, with no extras. I'm not sure if this is so that should they decide to release it themselves at a later time, they can do so with additional material? Or if it is a matter of publishing royalties, or something along those lines!

Sometimes it has to do with contracts involving the original artist, e.g. if anything gets added, it's no longer considered the original album, so the whole thing needs to be re-negotiated.
