Obsessed
I have this song in my head but I don't know what the title is or who did it! It was popular in the clubs between '77 and '79 (I think). It's a high energy song, with some techno treatment of the voices and instruments. The singer(s) were in falsetto only, the song is in a minor key, and I believe there were only two verses but it was mostly instrumental. Unfortunately, the only lyric that I remember is something like "dance our lives away" (that really narrows it down, doesn't it...). Sorry to be so vague, but if anyone has a clue, please contact me and I'll send you a small (1KB) midi file of what I remember of the tune. Thanks for any help y'all can provide!

Hmmm, Hi-NRG and Falsetto ...
I usually think of the Canadian group "Lime" -- but have no idea of the song -- when I think Hi-NRG and falsetto. Not sure if that helps any.

Hi jchic,
I don't believe I extended a welcome to you last week when you joined the board. My apologies. The clues to your song are a little difficult so if you think of anything else, please share. In the meantime, please join us in any of the forums that peak your interest.

Still obsessed, but this might help...
Nicky, thanks for the welcome. This is a great site!
About the song: here's a "sample" (plucked on a piano) of what I remember of the song. See if this prods your or anyone else's memory. Also, I forgot to mention in my original post--the singers were male.

Thanks once again for all the help.

The medley DANCING IS DANGEROUS / IS THERE MORE TO LIFE THAN DANCING by Noel contains the verse you mention, sung in falsetto over a 132bpm protohi-nrg/techno backing. The medley was very well done though not much spinned in clubs due to the lyrics. - Some claim Noel was one of the Sparks bros in drag.

I appreciate the lead, but this is still not the song I'm thinking of. I remember that it was played in the clubs fairly frequently in the late '70s.

Okay, how about Dalida's "Monday Tuesday", then? Again, 132 bpm, fast flying electronic disco, and those lyrics are there :-)

I have it
It bugged me... it actually kept me awake at night... because the piano rif was so well known. I am now almost convinced...
I'M ready by (I think) Kano. That last bit of the piano, the lyrics go "I'm ready, I'm ready. yes I am"...
If not, then I am going to get out all my Italo records and FIND it.

We have a winner!
Maarten, this is it! I'm sorry you lost sleep over it (you don't know how difficult it's been to get this song out of my head), but I really appreciate your efforts. Also, thanks to all of you who wracked your brains and sent me leads--you're good people.
Now that my life's goal has been realized, what's left?

I heard this before and recently to. Fricking senility is setting in. If it comes to me, i'll post a reply. Sounds like "i got it, i got it, just for you, ...."

Thanks for checking in, discodjii. I did find out the name of the song (Kano, "I'm Ready"). Now that you mention it, I probably should see if I can find the lyrics...
