You'll likely find at some point that Edwin Birdsong is out there on his own. He hasn't made a lot of solo LPs - the first 3 are funk affairs with 'Dance Of Survival' being the weirdest (a mate of mine, upon hearing it, described it as 'the sort of music you make up in your head.' Make of that what you will, but I know what he meant). :o
The two albums you have are more disco-centered, with 'Edwin Birdsong' (PIR) being the most bonkers disco LP of its time(!). I can't think of many disco records like them at all - if anything, I would say they veer closer to P-Funk than conventional disco. I would suggest you have a listen to two dancefloor orientated LPs of the genre, Mutiny's 'Mutiny On The Mamaship' and 'Funk Plus The One' sets. You can get them both on cheapo re-issues or there's a CD compilation of both, called 'How's Your Loose Booty'. They're not too Clintonesque for the unconverted and they're excellent albums.
If you like electro, Birdsong had his own hip hop label in the '80s called Singh.
