Looking for orchestral, instrumental tracks

hi folks,

my first time here. i would be grateful if you could help me with this.

i got quite a large colection of disco tunes, but what i am completly missing are tracks in the style of ... uhm ... lets call it "C.H.I.P.s - style" (weird tv-show, great music

i realy loved those tunes - i guess thse were by Alan Silvestrie?- during those chases).

i ´ve got lots of MFSB, or Salsoul Orchestra- stuff.

But i am lookingstill for Orchestral, grooving disco tunes going on endlessly.

do you know some tunes or purchaseble compilations of that sort of music?

Welcome to the board. I'm sure others will chime in on your request but I'll drop the first suggestion. You should check out stuff by the Love Unlimted Orchestra. Great instrumental dance tracks if there ever were any. There's a CD titled "The Best of Barry White's Love Unlimited Orchestra". Some of the cuts are:

MY SWEET SUMMER SUITE (12") 7:17
BRAZILIAN LOVE SONG (12") 6:11
RHAPSODY IN WHITE 3:56
LOVE'S THEME 4:00 (I'm sure you've heard this somewhere :) )
LET THE MUSIC PLAY (INSTRUMENTAL VERSION) 5:47
THEME FROM "KING KONG" (12") 8:05

There's quite a lot of stuff out there by a lot of artists. LUO was the easy one for me to kick-start your search.

To add to the list -- some have vocals, but they're still long songs with pretty instrumentals:

Cerrone - Love In C-Minor (about 15+ minutes long)
(I think Frankie Crocker did a similar sounding cover version.)

Most "USA/European Connection" songs (produced by Boris Midney).

Nightlife Unlimited - Love Is In You, etc.

Love & Kisses - I Found Love - and most anything produced by Alec R. Costandinos (i.e., Romeo & Juliet).

Gene Page & The Symphonic Orchestra - Close Encounters Of The Third Kind

Mike Theodore Orchestra - High On Mad Mountain.

Of course, LUO is a must- have. Very sad we lost Barry recently :cry:

Thank you for your suggestions. Never heard of USA/ European Connection. I´ll have to look out for it.

What I´m looking for are some fast, groovy instrumental tracks with slapping bass and so on. (maybe someones remembers the C.H.I.P.s sound - this TV- show introduced me to Disco some years ago)

I am happy on every suggestion I get.
