Anyone know if it is going to be repeated, the first time it was on I only caught the last 1/2 hour of it.
If you missed it the first time around when it aired in January, DISCO BALL will be shown again tonight at 8 PM, EST, on ABC. Some of the artists are:
KC and The Sunshine Band
Usher
Gloria Gaynor
Mya
Thelma Houston
Village People
Irene Cara
Pointer Sisters
Martha Wash (she and Whoopi Goldberg do "It's Raining Men")
I remember thinking Usher's rendition of "Ain't No Stopping Us Now" was quite good.

\"You should be dancin\' Yeah\"
Damn it Nicky. I missed it again. I was thinking last evening when you posted this i wanted to catch it this time. When I got home I forgot all about it :(
Find them and destroy them!
I missed the darn thing again! I saw the first taping but I think I only saw the last 15 minutes of the show the first time it came out... :(
VH1 ran repeats of this show also. I can't believe so many people keep missing it!!!! Get a Tivo!!!!!!
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
I saw it the first time it aired.

Well, it was more enjoyable than most music shows on TV these days. I wonder what made the decision of who would sing live and who would lip sync. I wish Victor Willis of Village People could have returned, although Ray Simpson is fine. Mya's cover of "Turn The Beat Around" omitted Vicki Sue's "with the syncopated rhythm" phrase. I have always loved KC and the SUnshine Band but at one point during the "Get Down Tonight" part of the medley, he didn't lip sync (didn't move his mouth). Taylor Dayne unfortunately pronounced "action" correctly; she didn't say "ac-shawn." I wish Alicia Bridges could have returned for "I Love The Night Life" even if she is old and doesn't think she is disco. The same with Andrea True, no matter how old she looks. I thought it was a bit odd that after The Spinners were introduced as being from the beginning of disco, they then sang "Working My Way Back To You/Forgive Me Girl", from the end of disco's pop heyday. Who sang the Bee Gees medley, "Natural"? I wish Whoopi Goldberg had stuck to just announcing. The guy who introduced "Hot Stuff" referred to "Georgia Moroder." I wish Donna Summer had been there.
So where was Saint Tropez, Musique, Voyage, Destination, Stargard, Cerrone...??? How about if they made disco studio acts sing on stage for the first time ever? Tuxedo Junction! Love & Kisses! Lipstique! El Coco! Blackwell! Yeah, I know, dream on...OK, where was Sister Sledge, Silver Convention...I know, how about David Naughton singing "Makin' It" or Paul Nicholas singing "Heaven On The 7th Floor"? Whaddya mean, "who?" Sorry, I was talking to the auduence, "huh huh huh huh huh..." :P

That would have been incredible if Andrea True had performed on the show. She should have been there.

Trust me, you don't. The brief interview that I saw with him from a couple of years ago was scary. Years of serious drug abuse have taken their toll. He looks and acts just like any other homeless crack addict now.Originally Written by usagi-san
It just hit me that disco artists are just as important as any other types of genre... Fleetwood Mac was just in town. I heard they put on a good show. After what happened to Barry White I would have been happy just to see any of them... even if I didn't particularily like the song back then.
I agree with Outsider, it would have been a treat to see Andrea True on the show. Even if the general public doesn't know who
Foxy
Candi Station
Saint Tropez
El Coco
Cerrone
Bionic Boogie
etc. etc. etc.
I feel all of these artists are important.
