    Was (Not Was)

    Just a curiosity:

"Tell Me That I'm Dreaming" by Was (Not Was) "includes mutillated found vocals by Ronald Reagan" (Steven Grant/Ira Robbins). Great disco !!!

When this came out, the version I used to hear had the Reagan 'out of control' line looped on the intro - but the 12" version I bought didn't - anyone know which version I'm missing??????

    Forrrce,

I have three different versions on vinyl, but none start with the "Out of Control" loop. The LP version comes closest with the presidents introduction where Reagan repeatedly says, "Thank you very much..."

Thanks, Bernie - that may well be the section I'm actually referring to and it's just changed in my head with the passage of time.

    Speaking of Reagan

Does anyone remember the rap track by a band called something Bad Bobby Jimmy Jam or something like that. Ultra phat base line, must have been mid 80's. Complete spoof of a track.

Terrific middle section where Ronald Reagon calls in and announces that Nancy wants to human beat box... which she does... Darn, where is that tape with that track, can't find it!

Yes, I do!!! I used to love that record - it was by Bobby Jimmy & The Critters and it was called 'Bag Bobby Jimmy Jam'.

"And by the way, Nancy's gonna do a beatbox for ya..."!!!!

He did a daft rap to Timex Social Club's 'Rumors' also - remember 'Roaches'?!
