    Rolling Stones - Emotional Rescue

I'm not a Stones fanatic but they did make some great music...one of them being their 1980 hit Emotional Rescue. This Youtube video shows it on 12" vinyl and has it as "side two"! What was on side one? It also says "remix" but it sounds to me like the full 5:39 album version....maybe just a heavier beat??? Were there any more club-friendly mixes made of this? As well, what were some songs mixing into it and out of back then? I know George Benson's Give Me The Night would have been one of them.

It's a bootleg/counterfeit of the "Miss You" 12". The real one has "Far Away Eyes" on the flip.

What a coincidence you should be talking about the Rolling Stones - only this week I bought the 'Forty licks' compilation double CD of their hits - the first time I've evr bought anything by the Rolling Stones! I'm not a huge fan but some of the tracks remind me of my childhood 'cos my elder brother had lots of their records & i used to play them along with the Motown & Beach Boys stuff I loved. (not to mention the Everly Brothers, Petula Clark, Troggs, Loving Spoonful & Dusty Springfield records!) I never expected them to be mentioned a few days later on this forum!

I've always been a fan of the dancier/funkier side of Mick & The Boys. Emotional Rescue is easily my favorite RS track right after Miss You.

Ahh thanks for clearing that up. I have the original "Miss You" on 12" and I always loved their country-fied "Far Away Eyes"....but I didn't know they did a video of it! "I was so pleased to hear of this that I ran 20 red lights in his honour"....I think I probably played this side more than "Miss You"!

Yep...lots of memories of Rolling Stones in my family too. My one sister's favourite 45 was "Tell Me (You're Coming Back)". I've got a few vinyl albums of the Everly Brothers...pure musical bliss for me and as for Dusty, I imagine a few of us on here can claim to be her biggest fan!
