can somebody identify this group!

Dear all.
I have an old tape with disco songs of the 80s. The songs are very good but the tape has been damaged..I dont know the group name. all I know about is that the group lead vocalist is black and his name goes something like 'steve mahon" I am not sure about mahon. The songs are "stepping out" one I remember but other I cannot figure out. The vocalist voice is just like the cool and the gangs lead vocalist...the song tempo is also like cool and the gangs..please help me find the group/album.

Thanx for the quick reply. U were right I was mistaken. The song might be from the band Kool &the Gang. I think these songs are also from the same album then!.."No show","Get down on it"...there were also some songs on the same tape of group that I cannot recall either...may be "bakera.."also a disco band of the same era....
For disco 1999, I have been listening to music from my early childhood..and believe me all of the latest music is available ..and also very cheep here in pakistan.
