I've been buzzing around the net, looking up the catalogue number for this CD.
And it appears to be legit. But that doesn't mean it's not going to sound awful...
Hi guys:
While searching at www.amazon.co.uk I faced this disc:![]()
https://www.amazon.co.uk/First-Choic...864558&sr=8-14
Is this a real CD?...![]()
...what I mean is: Is this a real CD, instead of a bootleg or a russian CD-R?![]()
Thank for any kind of help.
Cheers,
Hessel

I've got this CD & it sounds great, much better than my 2nd hand very scratched vinyl copy which I can now store away somewhere to gather dust. (The CD was also very cheap & has an extra track!)
...ya gotta beat the street......

No such luck. It's the 3:25 midtempo track "If You Become a Woman."
What's a little unusual about this CD is when you look at the tunestack on the CD, the "First Choice Theme" (3:10 on vinyl) and "Ain't He Bad" (7:25 on vinyl) have been replaced by "So Let Us Entertain You," which is the two tracks segued together. It clocks in at 9:33 on the CD. I haven't compared the CD to the vinyl, so I can't say there was any editing done, but the loss of one minute in time would seem to imply that.
The 12" reads the same as the LP. And, like the LP, there's no q-band between the two songs.
Considering the LP's name & that it is the opening lyric for side 1...
Combining the two could've been a 1st response to a need for creating space, for CD layout.
And the missing minute...?
The LP is a long one! Side One runs 23:15 & Side Two runs 22.53 = 46.08mins
Doesn't the cost of Mastering a CD, go up after 45 mins in length?
If you've gotta lose time, "Ain't He Bad" is the place to do it & get away with it.
And a minute's plenty enuff time to ditch an entire passage or chorus, without it being noticed.
(or two, if the bpms are fast enough...)
"Ain't He Bad" runs a fairly steady 129bpm & the average Disco passage or chorus, runs 32x2 or 64 beats---x2 = 128 beats
(bye-bye 10:35, hello 9:33)
(okay...as dorky as all that was, please be nice to me. it did take a lotta work. can you say "OCD"?)
