Donna rules!!!
One thing that amazes me is how while most "top 40" disco is scorned by devout fans (like Bee Gees, Village People, etc.), even the most dedicated, hardcore, obscure-groove-seeking, underground beat freak still loves Donna Summer -- who sold more disco records than anyone else. I don't ever want to hear "YMCA" again, but I just can't get enough of "MacArthur Park". And let's not forget that she was one of the very few disco stars to be able to maintain a career after 1980 (in spite of some questionable behaviour on her part). Almost 30 years after "Love To Love You Baby", she's still going strong! Hooray Donna!
Donna rules!!!

Graham: Need I remind you. Not everyone loves Donna. I believe there are some folks who found most of her records soul less, overblown and pretty boring.
True, but Kim Il-Sung isn't around to post anymore, so...
BTW: Everybody loves sunshine, but look what that can do to ya if taken in excess.

Quinny - I hope you are sitting down and have a stiff whisky in your hand, coz I ACTUALLY AGREE WITH YOU!!!Originally Written by QUINNY
There are a couple of her tracks that I like but the rest do absolutely NOTHING for me.
Give me Jean Carne 8) anytime!!!!
Now let me think .... how about:
Jean Carne v David Beckham
Jean Carne v Posh Beckham
Jean Carne v Ronaldo
BTW And I won't even tell you what I think of Diana Ross!!

Excellent tribute, Graham. I love all the 1970s albums and "Another Place And Time" best, but all her albums have great tunes on them. :)

Jazz: So you're that someone? I only liked about 3, maybe 4 records by our Donna. Was that all it was?.......yep.
So you like about twice as many Donna Summer records as I do, eh?Originally Written by QUINNY
Don't Let it Go To Your Head!

Jazz: That means you're even a rarer beast than me. Next time I'll expect you to lay your sacrificial head on the chopping block at the holy temple of the mighty Donna.
No, I'll probably wait again for you to go FIRST!!
I agree with Graham, I can't get enough of Donna Summer! Can you imagine the disco era without Donna :o ? It would be like a sandwhich without bread. Quinny, Jean Carn is good but Donna is the greatest!!![]()
