Years, I mean YEEEAAARRS ago, when I was still buying all my music on vinyl and was hunting down old pop and disco songs from the '70s (well, let's be clear - I've never stopped), I came across a K-Tel instructional album called "Let's Disco!". I picked it up because it had KC & the Sunshine Band's "Get Down Tonight" on it. I've had the record for ages, though it's currently in storage with the rest of my vinyl.
This last weekend, I go down to my sister's for a visit, and the talk somehow glanced on disco for a bit. She laughed, and says, "Oh my god! I have something for you. Check THIS out.' Then she hands me the "Let's Disco!" BOOK. And then *I* laughed and said OMG I have the RECORD! A friend of hers had come across the book and then passed it on to her. I had no idea that there was a book that went with my record (I haven't ever listened to the instructional side of the record very thoroughly).
So now I have the *complete* package as a fun artifact of the "cheese" era of disco. Groovy.
