oops-my bad. i know that the forum is very much up on everything disco. i only try to add to the forum by conveying whatever useful info i come across, because i try to stay in the loop of whats going on,but i feel like if something comes my way that i did'nt know about there are probably others that also dont know about it. is'nt that what this forum is all about to help each other in our never ending love and pursuit of disco?
While the book does seem to contain interesting reproductions of vintage magazine articles etc it still seems yet another missed opportunity to broaden minds about the music. It's 2011 though and it's been a while anything on the subject hit the stores so maybe they thought a beginners guide will sell again.
Too bad us who keep whining about things like this have become stuck in blogs and cannot be bothered to do anything about it, to start writing something maybe a bit more advanced than a basic history. I'd imagine a well researched, completely obsessed and trainspottist book on the more....interesting aspects of 70's disco would sell equally well at least in Europe and in Japan. There just MUST be young djs and vinyl freaks in America as well into the cosmic stuff...yes? Please tell me so, someone...? kids into space disco and italo also in America...no? Sigh.

I'm 25 and Italo-disco is my favorite genre of dance music. I prefer the heavily-synthesized, mysterious-sounding stuff from 82-84 as opposed to the poppier and more Americanized songs that came later.
I've just got this book & while it doesn't cover anything that any big disco fan doesn't already know its an absolutely gorgeous book! The pictures in it are amazing & its really nicely put together, i would highly recommend it to anyone.
